The amount of work left on his to do list never seemed to diminish at all. Oh the young man worked hard to complete project after project, yet running his department meant that the work was never really done. Still there were two things that always got priority for the most part; and that was spending time with his grandma, and spending time with Abby too. So when she texted him about the movie Jester was already giddy, and after downing two Monster energy drinks he tore through his most urgent tasks of the day. When those were done at last Jackson headed out for a bit, riding that little electric scooter that Evie had helped him build a few years ago. Soon after leaving the base Warner swung by his Nana's; to hang out for a little while with her, watch the daily recorded episode of Jeopardy that was waiting, and fixed her dinner. Chilling with the sweet woman who raised him was always a blast, and after chatting for a while Jester finally gave her a big hug and headed out once more.
With time to spare the young hacker swung by Five Guys to grab some eats, picking up dinner for himself and for Abby, and when 7:30pm finally rolled around Jester was already waiting in the Leisure Room. His copy of the latest Blade Runner flick was cued up, the food was laid out on the coffee table; complete with that shake and a bowl of popcorn too, and Jackson was halfway through his own burger when he finally spotted Abby at last. A soft cheesy smile was seen as he waved over at her, unable to say hello since he was caught mid chew. Yet after quickly finishing off the bite of his bacon cheese burger...and after pausing to wipe the excess ketchup and mustard away with a napkin, he spoke up at last.
"Hey, chica. Good timing. The food is still hot, and the shake is still cold."
