Who: Mason & Tony
What: Experimenting
When: April 6th, around 7pm
Where: Hologym
Rating: PG13 for swearing
Tony wasn't particularly certain of what he was doing but he took a deep breath, popped in his ear buds and went in to the hologym. He figured that if they really wanted him there to experiment with his powers, then he might as well do something with it. He'd already tried to do stuff in the hologym with some of his abilities but he wasn't sure if it didn't work because of his lack of training or because his powers were utterly useless against something that wasn't living with an actual consciousness that was tangible to his mind.
Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door. It was set up as relatively basic, nothing that was built for people with useful powers in battle. There were "people" milling about and it looked something like a park in an inner city. Maybe there was a possibility he could actually connect with these things and not give himself a migraine. Maybe he didn't have to seem like a psychopath, Jeffrey Dahmer-wanna-be. He didn't want to do any harm to humans or animals, but he couldn't figure out his powers on a human. He couldn't find it to be humane. Altering the mind of an animal wasn't as bad in his opinion. But who knew? Maybe he just wasn't using his power correctly.
Tony huffed and pulled one ear bud out, going up to a woman that was sitting on a bench nearby, reading a newspaper. He started talking with her for a little bit and then popped his ear bud back in and started to focus on his abilities, or at least producing the smoke. Smoke meant connections and connections meant powers were working - that was all Tony really understood he could do anyways. Eventually, after a good ten minutes, the smoke came and Tony could feel his mind reaching out, trying to do something. All he was picking up was static. The longer the smoke lingered, the louder the static grew in his head. Tony tried to stick it out. There had to be something he could connect to - these were programmed beings but he had to figure this power stuff out somehow. 'Maybe I'm not doing it right,' Tony thought to himself. He inched a little closer to the woman, almost uncomfortably close and let out another breath of the smoke.
His head only throbbed harder and the static of a machine without a consciousness, pure electrical activity, flooded his head. And it hurt like hell. He winced and forced himself away from the woman. There was so much smoke, he had to remove himself from the hologym even and stumbled out of the door, wincing and clutching at his head. As soon as he was out of the room, he leaned against the wall, huffing and burying his head in his lap to try soothing the throbbing pains and to protect his eyes from the light.
