"It's a pleasure to meet you, Elena," he smiled, trying to recover from his gracelessness. Especially given how poised this woman was. He typically thought of himself as well polished but in her presence he felt a bit oafish. It was no fault of hers and something he'd get over quickly, but it was an interesting mental note to make.
When she extended the offer for Garrett to join her, he couldn't bring himself to pass up the opportunity to socialize. He gestured for her to continue on her way and followed behind, careful to keep his distance. He was well aware that his appearance was off-putting but found that if he didn't get too close, most people were fine with him. It didn't stop the stares but nothing would.
"Are you settling in well?" Garrett settled in a sunbeam, coiling his tale and settling in. Small talk wasn't his greatest strength but it would have to do until he found something they could chat about at length.
