Lucas had honestly made...worse life choices somewhere along the way that were probably worse than that by a moral standpoint. By a physical stand point, it might have been the worse choice he could have made thus far. He knew comparatively, Bear was the superior fighter between them. He didn't stand much of a chance with the exception of maybe attacking him with his dry wit but impenetrable skin seemed to also mean impenetrable brain. Bear was something of the embodiment of the saying 'water off the duck's back' to Lucas. Whatever was told to him just dropped, even if it was something that would've been potentially hurtful to anyone else if he had told it to someone else. If he was honest however.
He knew the moment he stepped into the Hologym with the lumbering figure of a man. He'd been one of the investigating agents on the field when Bear was discovered and the one to give him the name 'Bear'. Amusement coloring his face, when he had seen the hulk of a man get taken down by the people around him. Lucas should've been aware he was never going to win but he still went anyway because he wasn't the type of person to back down from a challenge when it was presented to him. But now his body ached from his mistakes and he just sort of laid on his side in his bed, head propped up while Church sort of circled around his feet. He scrolled down the page on the website, reading over some of the daily reports he had filed in for the day.
Even if it hurt to move, at the very least when he was laying down he was okay. Lucas's brow arched slightly as he heard the door knock before moving to sit up in bed with a groan. Nope, his body was done with trying not to move. If he was smart enough than he would've called for Avery to come and fix this but...the concern he carried for his agents was something that was a tiny bit embarrassing. He wanted to keep them safe as much as possible and Avery wouldn't have to pay for his own soreness. Lucas smiled at the sight of the woman before letting the small bottle of ibuprofen hit him and caught the water before it did worse damage.
He would never admit to anyone that he was a softy. Even though he knew many people already saw it. Already saw through his act and remained concerned for the most part. "I man-pain quite beautifully, thank you." He chuckled a little, pushing himself up on his elbows as he downed a couple of the pills before moving to swing his legs over the side of the bed and smiling up at Holly. "I was hoping we could just ignore the play-by-play, bypass it for this time. It's not my greatest moment I've ever had. I've done better, that's for sure." He held out his hand for the alcohol with an expectant expression on his face.
