There was this annoying lack of emotion, or even interest, that Void seemed to display. It was as if he felt that there was nothing interesting left to do in life. She'd known a few people like that and they were the most uninteresting people she'd met, even though they'd probably led the most interesting lives on the planet. There was no happiness left in their worlds and, while she herself was heading down that salty trail, she wasn't about to go down without a fight. That was why she tried to keep up with the few passions she had.
Nicolette's smile broadened a bit when she seemed to have been able to actually catch him off guard with an introduction. Perhaps she had defied his expectation of what was going on here? He must not have thought that she cared enough to want to introduce herself. She did care, but only because he was one of the newest things around. He wasn't as easy to read as the other newbies. Most of them were just kids, shuffled here after being deemed useful. They were wide-eyed and afraid. Void wasn't even impressed. That made him interesting to her.
"Void?" She questioned him about the name, "Do you prefer that?" She was going to ask if he had been stuck around people who liked to dehumanize him for too long, but didn't. When it came to living in limbo, she acquiesced in silence. She knew she couldn't survive on the outside, but she did support those who wanted to be more than what they were. She actually held some disdain for those who would treat her worse than the "normal" people.
