Who: Pansy Parkinson and Theodore Nott
Where: Nott Manor, Bristol
When: Saturday mid-morning
What: Tour of Nott Manor
Rating: PG

"Now this, is one of my favourite rooms in the whole house." Theodore said as he opened the door to the library. Having brought Pansy out from London that morning, Theodore had suggested a proper tour of the house before they could have lunch and then a look out into the large gardens that surrounded the house. They were about half an hour into his tour of the manor, and hadn't quite gotten to the important parts, but he was making his way systematically through the manor, showing Pansy every inch. It was hardly their first time together in his home, but it was the first time he was presenting it as her future home, the one they'd raise their family in together.

With his hand on the small of her back, Theodore led her further into the library. It was a large room, that spanned two stories on the far end of the east wing. There were shelves that lined the length of three of the walls, with the east wall containing large windows between further shelves that allowed the room to be flooded with sunlight. Pulling out his wand, Theodore flung the heavy curtains aside with a swish and flick. Dust fluttered into the air at the movement, but he smiled as the light came streaming through, allowing the room to light up appropriately.

Leading her toward the middle of the room, Theodore slid his arm around Pansy's waist, his chin resting on her shoulder. "Isn't it?" Theodore said with a smile. It had always been one of his favourites, not only for the lighting and the view, but the style of the room was much like the rest of the house, Tudor in fashion with carved mahogany and oak accents. A massive fireplace across from the windows, and comfortable, timeless furniture dotted throughout the the room.

"I used to spend my summers here, revising." Theodore explained, glancing up toward the shelves surrounding them. There was a balcony around the entire room separating the shelves, and he could still remember running up the circular stairs along the balcony and sliding down the bannisters. "When I wasn't busy thinking about a certain someone." Theodore added, smiling back down at her. He kissed her briefly.

"Shall we head up to the first floor?" They'd already seen the great hall, dining room, parlour and his father's study. That left the solar, with a an amazing view over the gardens, second parlour and the bedrooms across the first and second floor with a large attic and rooms at the very top of the manor. Much as they had for centuries, the kitchens were still located in one of the out buildings, and there were cellars and basements beneath their feet though Theodore imagined the visit to those rooms would be very brief.

Feeling Theodore surround her Pansy couldn't help but smile. "You let a girl interfere with your studies? Shame on you Theodore." Pansy teased with a laugh. "We are going to have to make sure our sons don't have the same problem." She returned his kiss.

"Yes. Let's see the first floor," Pansy said with a little smile. She was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Nott Manor was a bit larger than her parent's home but Pansy rarely saw all of Parkinson Manor only her wing of it. Pansy laced her fingers with Theodore's as she walked with him.

"I did indeed. There's really no excuse for it, but she is the most beautiful woman on earth." He murmured, smiling against her skin as he nuzzled her neck lightly. Granted, he'd still had top marks, but that wasn't really the point. "We will, but I'm clearly going to be such a terrible influence on our boys."

"Good, this way." Theodore said, leading her toward the circular stairwell on the far edge of the room. There were, of course, the grand stairs in the foyer, and the servant stairs, from back when it was fashionable to have human servants, but he was there to show her the secrets, and that meant the more unusual routes. As they reached the stairs, he let her head up first, mostly so he could get a nice view, before leading her around the room toward a shelf above the door they'd come in. Waiving his wand, the shelf swung forward, and Theodore motioned for Pansy to go first, stepping through, they exited out into the first floo hall, and Theodore turned to close first the curtains in the library, and then the door behind them.

"Clearly" Pansy agreed with a smirk. "Thank Salazar they will have me to balance you out."

Pansy climbed the spiral stairs making sure to put the perfect wiggle into her walk. She had no idea the spiral stairs went anywhere specific. It was like a maze in here. "Where are we going next?"

"Yes, you'll be a very calming influence." Theodore agreed as he slid his arm around her waist once more, lightly grazing her very lovely bum with his fingertips.

When they stepped past the door and out into the corridor, Theodore started walking again. "This is the first floor corridor. It runs across the back of the building and end in the solar at the far end of the house." Theodore explained as he pointed toward the window on their right. "There are three bedrooms on this floor, including our master suite and a parlour between our rooms and the other bedrooms. My mother used to use it as an extended wardrobe and study." Theodore said as they approached the first door on their left. It was a bit odd to refer to his parent's bedroom as their room, but maybe the more he said it, the more it would suit. Opening the door, he stepped inside so that she could follow. "This is the blue room, and you can imagine why."

"Funny that may be the first time you have called me calming" Pansy teased. She loved that his fingers skimmed her bottom.

"A study and extended closet sounds lovely." It seemed odd to be thinking about moving into here. Her mother had warned her it might feel uncomfortable. Pansy was trying to remember the path. Pansy leaned close to Theodore. Stepping into the room she looked around. "Goodness. It certainly is blue." The room just looked dated.

"You are calming, and beautiful and patient." Theodore murmured against her ear as he pressed his lips to her throat. His arms were quite firmly around her waist as they perused the room. At her comment, he laughed out loud.

"I suppose it is." He agreed, chuckling. It was a decent sized room, with a built-in wardrobe and small en-suite bathroom that had been added since it's construction in the fifteenth century. "Next door is the yellow room." Theodore explained as he started to lead her back out of the room and into the next. This one he was sure she'd dislike even more than the other. Opening the door, he waited for her to go in first, trying not to laugh.

"And you are a handsome sexy man" Pansy purred. "I am one lucky girl."

"The yellow room?" Pansy asked her eyebrow raised. "Are all the rooms themed?" Walking into the room ahead of Theodore, Pansy looked around horrified. "It looks like Hufflepuff house threw up in here." Pansy looked up at Theodore. "Tell me that I can redo these rooms." She was frankly nervous to see what the hell the master suite looked like.

"They are all themed." Theodore nodded in agreement. "Mother thought it would be best." Theodore admitted, unable to stop the small smile from twitching on his lips. When she mentioned Hufflepuff, Theodore laughed again, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and kissing her temple.

"You can redo these room, but really, love, I can't imagine why you would." He said with a smirk. Okay, he understood the need to update the rooms, though he was sure that some things could be salvaged. The only one he was considering completely tossing was his parents old bedroom. The idea of taking it over made him shiver, though he knew it was the best room in the house.

"I'm sure she thought it would be great and I think my mother did the same thing when she moved into the estate" Pansy said. Looking over the room again with a more critical eye there were things that could be saved or recovered. But sweet Salazar that painting needed to burn.

"Are you going to tell me there is an orange room too?"Pansy asked.

"I'm sure it's a mother thing." Theodore said with a chuckle as he gave her waist another squeeze. At her question, Theodore laughed again and shook his head. "No, master bedroom's done in green and gold, and the nursery and rooms upstairs aren't colour themed." Theodore said, pausing long enough before they were to move onto the master bedroom next door.

"I'm sure it was fashionable at the time which of course is what makes them so expected now. Fashions are like that, I suppose."

The room was a lot more functional than Pansy had expected as she stepped into the master suite. It was quite large and while the furnishings were expensive looking they were also very plain. She was a bit unsure how to proceed. Looking up at Theodore she bit her lip. "Is there anything you want to keep in here?" She had no idea how sentimental he was about the items in the room.

Stepping further into the room, Theodore realised briefly that he's accidentally skipped the drawing room. There was an entrance from this room into it, and he figured they'd go there next, but for just a moment he paused a few steps into the room. It was odd to see it empty like this. He'd asked the house elves to box up his father's belongings, clean the room, but even so it very much seemed like his place.

When Pansy spoke, Theodore turned back to look at her. He stepped toward her, and wrapped his arm back around her. Theodore shook his head. "I'm not sure I could sleep here knowing these were mother and father's things." He said after a moment.

"I can understand that. I would feel the same way." She couldn't imagine trying to take over her parents Master suite. It would just be too odd. She would think of them and let's be honest, no one wanted to think of their parents bedroom like that. "I will do this room first then?" Pansy asked. "I can have it done before the wedding."

Pansy was of course thinking about their wedding night. It seemed fitting that her first night as Mrs. Nott should be spent in their home. It was still incredible to her. When she was just a small child, she remembered playing with Theodore in these halls. Pansy remembered running through the grounds with Theodore in an un-ladylike way as possible. Never once then did she think that she would live here.

She didn't know what Theodore may be reading on her face. Pansy wasn't uncomfortable really just overwhelmed by the sheer amount of history that the two of them shared and what was now going to be expected of her. She was no longer a child and while she hadn't felt like a child in a good many years, she had the notion that she was about to be more of an adult than she had ever been. "It will be beautiful and very comfortable I promise." Even as she said it she found herself missing the familiarity of Theodore's own bedroom. Mentally she was compelling a list of things she would have to do as lady of the house. Just the words lady of the house seemed preposterous to be applied to her and Nott Manor. This was intimidating.

Theodore paused and glanced around the room again as she asked. After a moment, he nodded. "Yes, I think this one should be first." He said finally. He smiled and kissed her temple again. "You don't have to rush it, but it would make it more our own, if it was ready, don't you think?" He slid his other arm around her and looked down into her eyes, smiling. Briefly brushing his lips against hers, he brushed a few strands out of her eyes.

"I want you to think of this as our home, princess. Our flats may be more mine, or yours, but here, this will be ours." Granted, he was giving her complete free reign over the design, but he knew he'd do a very good job for the both of them. "Our home."

"It'll be nice to have one room that is ours," Pansy agreed. "And if it's one room then it should be this one." He knew how to calm her. She loved when he brushed the hair from her face and just the way he looked at her.

"I like the sound of that. I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything" she confessed. "But I am so glad that I am going to be your wife."

Theodore nodded as she explained. He could only imagine how overwhelming it would be. The way Pansy handled herself, he would never have guessed that she was even remotely troubled by the move, their wedding. He smiled down at her, his hand sliding up and along her throat, briefly brushing his thumb over her cheek.

"I'm sure it's a lot to take in, but that's why I wanted to show you around today." He said, brushing his lips briefly against hers. "This way, you have months for everything. I want you to feel comfortable. So if anything worries you at all. Tell me, okay?"

Pansy tilted her head into his hand and her eyes were drifting closed. "I'm glad that you did. I promise to tell you if I am worried." She felt so lucky to have him in her life. Pansy leaned up and kissed Theodore properly wrapping her arms around his neck.

Theodore smiled as she agreed. He ran his hand lightly down her back, stroking it as he held her close. When she kissed him, he leaned down and kissed her back, fingers sliding through her hair. After a few minutes, he pulled back and smiled at her.

"I love you."
