I thought about you for a long time
Can't seem to get you off my mind
I can't understand why we're living life this
The owl had come and gone. When nothing came back, Astoria went about her day unsure if she'd hear from him that day or not. And, like months ago, going on about her day meant time spent in the kitchen. Today, she was avoiding her father and the terms of her forced marriage by pounding on tart shell dough. This was the fourth batch she'd ruined in the last hour, but it helped to get her aggression out. With a sigh, she gave up on the overworked dough and began to pull everything out and measure out everything in an attempt to start anew.
Draco and their situation were never far from her mind. She needed to talk to him. To let him know that she had her own stipulations before she would agree to anything. Even then, she needed him to understand just what a horrible idea this marriage was going to be. His so-called 'friends' were not going to be pleased and in the end, she was the one who would end up suffering. Didn't he understand that?
Astoria muttered under her breath as her thoughts kept returning to Draco. In the process she ended up dropping the sifter full of flour. It wouldn't have been a problem, except when it hit the counter there was a massive cloud of white flew up and covered her from her shoulders on up in flour. Astoria threw her hands up in frustration and stalked out of the kitchen as she headed for her room to shower and change her clothes.
Little did she realize, that at the same time all of this was going on, the object of her ire was being let in through the front door. She let out a sound that sounded like a strangled squeak and ducked back into the kitchen to do her best to rid herself of the ghastly mess she wore. When she stepped back into the hall, she looked as presentable as she was going to even if she still had flour on her brow and stuck in her curls. Nothing was worse than the top of her dress was faded and gray under the flour that had settled in behind her apron.
There was nothing left to be done, as her wand had been left up in her room, Astoria stepped back out into the hall and went to meet Draco in the foyer. "You could have owled before you showed up. I would have made sure I wasn't... busy with something else." She said with a frown.
