Entry tags:!may, alecto carrow, astoria greengrass

Who: Astoria Greengrass and Alecto Carrow
Where: At the Greengrass Estate
When: Backdated! Saturday at 7
What: Astoria and Alecto must talk
Rating: Lowish - Alecto will talk of torture and death

Especially when it had to do with her nieces or something with family. Amycus had whined about not being able to go due to several students having detention. She promised that him a gift of liquor and discussion afterwards. Perhaps a little something stronger than that. It was after their conversation that she grabbed her wand and decided against the dark green robes that she was typically found in on school grounds.

Floo was the best way to travel for now. Hogwarts had it opened to the teachers, and Alecto took advantage of that situation. After calling out her destination, she stepped out of the fireplace and called for a house elf. "Make the parents know that they are not to disturb Astoria and I. Is the tea ready? Good." The elf lead her through the house with no complications. That was good. There was no way she would be able to stand the sight of either of them. Alecto was tired of her older family. They proved to be useless in her book, and as a ruthless woman, those who were useless were pushed to the side.

Alecto waited to meet her niece. Two minutes early, Astoria would have to be on time or Alecto wouldn't do anything with or for the younger girl.

As she was bid to do, Astoria sat and took in her aunt's words before wincing at the reminder of what it was that had landed her in the situation she was in. "My drunken temper tantrum, as you say, has something to do with why I have asked for your company. First, let me say that I apologize for the whole thing, and hope that I have not disgraced you much. Mum is adamant that I be disowned for my actions. Father is giving me chances to make amends instead."

Astoria sighed and looked down at her shaking hands a moment before she curled her fingers and balled her hands into fists. "I have already attempted to make amends with those who were directly affected by my words. That is not the end of it. Father insists I forego the couple of years I had been given before taking the mark, and wants me to do so now. He feels it will show my loyalty to the right people, and I can then work on repairing any tattered alliances my actions might have caused. I will do as I am told, and do so to the best of my ability."

Alecto was cold, even when it came to her family. If their names weren't Amycus, she could truly care less about them. Though, when someone did something to any of her kin, Alecto could be even more ruthless. Which is why she had no qualms telling the Dark Lord of the young Malfoy. When Astoria apologized, Alecto nodded. "Good dear. I'm glad you realize your mistakes. If made again, it will be obvious character flaws that will not be taken lightly. You have only disgraced yourself in this matter." Which was partially true. No on would ever question the Carrow name when it came to their loyalties and their personalities. Still, the Greengrass name had been tarnished, if only a little, and that concerned Alecto. "I will not allow you to be disowned. Unless you turn your back on this family or you stoop so low as to become a blood traitor, you will still be of this family." Alecto would have a talk with Astoria's mother. The wretched witch.

Alecto smiled. It may have been one of those rare and true smiles that not many had seen. Alecto poured some tea into the cup that had been placed in front of the two not long before. It was the silence she enjoyed before working on the thoughts in her head. A touch of cream and Alecto leaned back before bringing the cup to her lips. She looked at Astoria, there was potential there. "There is no drinking to escape the ranks. You cannot fall into a drunken stupor if something is not to your liking." It would be best to make sure she knew exactly what was going to happen. "Your father is very intelligent when it comes to the matter. It would be a very good idea for you to prove yourself to not only your peers, but also your elders." Taking another short sip, Alecto placed the cup down. "You will be tested. As your sister will be, perhaps before your sister." Yes, Daphne needed to be marked as well, but she was still in good standing in society. "I will come up with a proper introduction into the ranks for you." It had been far too quiet on the Death Eaters side, especially after the mass murder of Goblins. Perhaps it was time for something else.

Once Alecto started to make her tea, Astoria followed suit. It felt a bit odd to be sitting across from her aunt having the conversation they were having, especially at tea, like it was just another everyday occurrence. "I do, Aunt Alecto. I have realized my mistakes. There are about four months worth of them, they were bound to make me snap at one point or another. However, my actions are inexcusable. I would never turn my back on my family and you can rest assured, I have no plans on supporting the mudbloods like the traitors out there. I am greatful to see I have another family member who would be willing to stand against Mum. It took my father nineteen years to do that very thing." Astoria was nervous to say the least, and like all other times in her life when she should just stifle herself, Astoria couldn't keep herself quiet.

"As far as I am concerned another drop of alcohol shall never pass these lips again. I seem to have trouble controlling myself when I drink, nor do I know what my limit is. So, it would be for the best if there were none at all." Astoria sipped at her tea before continuing. "I thank you, Aunt Alecto, for having the confidence in me to not turn me away. It means a lot that you feel I still have a chance at standing among the Dark Lord's ranks."

Wasn't it a normal, everyday occurrence? She remembered being Astoria's age and drinking tea whilst Amycus and her plotted their next kidnapping or torture. Different times? Alecto was partially saddened that the younger generation wasn't nearly as active as they were during the first War. "I am so very glad to hear that Astoria. You seem to be maturing into a fine young woman if you are able to understand your mistakes. I just wish you had been able to do so before all of this was brought up. Out of curiosity, my dear, was it only you that understand these mistakes?" Of course Alecto was fishing to find out more information on the younger Malfoy, but she would have to wait and see. "Your mother is a very interesting creature. She has no power over your uncle and I, so we would happily stand against her." And how she wished her mother could hear that.

"Even better. It is unladylike to exceed your limit, so it's much better not to even push the boundaries." Alecto nodded her head as she brought the cup back up to her lips. "You have Carrow blood in you, we have always been in the ranks of our Lord. I was hoping you and your sister could follow this honourable tradition." Astoria could prove useful within the ranks. There was a sweetness that could be exploited, and Alecto was interested in doing just that.
