Entry tags:bill weasley, fleur weasley

WHO: Bill and Fleur
WHAT: Adjusting to life without work
WHERE: Their home
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete

The black box that started all of this sat on the edge of his desk uncovered as he inspected the runes that were etched into the sides of the blasted thing. It amazed him that everything that had happened recently, happened because of this little thing. Bill's eyes flicked from the box to the scrap of parchment before him, as he tried to decipher the little etchings. Godric, this was something he would normally enjoy doing, but was finding it to be tedious.

The tap tap tap of his quill against the top of his desk annoyed him. Right now, everything annoyed him it would seem. In frustration, Bill threw the quill to the desk and pushed his chair away. Standing, he paced and ran his fingers through his hair. "Fleur?" He called out to his wife, curious of her whereabouts as he covered the box and left his office.

"Fleur?" He called again, as he searched the house for her. "Hun?"

Bill kissed the top of her head before he reluctantly allowed Fleur to escape him. "No, I haven't. Not yet. The symbols seem to loop back on themselves, and I've come to a standstill because of it. I'll try again later, but for now, if I continue to stare at the blasted thing, I'm going to go insane."

He followed in his wife's wake and went to gather his shoes and helped Fleur into her robes. "Its a little on the chilly side. I want you warm." He stated, as he slipped into his own. "Are you craving anything in particular?"

Fleur nodded. "I am sure you will get it," and she was certain because there was a reason Bill was known for being the best. "I will help you later." There were a couple things she had learned herself working at Gringotts and one of that was how to do research. One of the many books they has between the two of them had to have something about it. It was just a matter of finding it.

"I will be fine, do not worry. If I do I have a husband to keep me warm." She joked but she let him help her into her robes. It was sweet that he cared enough to think of something and she had long learned it wasn't worth it to argue with him on it and just accept it. Fleur thought about his question a moment. "Actually, no. I think I will get to eat what I want today." Her cravings had been odd and strong lately but for once she wasn't craving anything. The baby was going to give her a break for once.

"I will, its just slow going." Bill said as he blew out a sigh that bespoke of his frustration. "Your help would be appreciated, but you are to take every precaution necessary. Should something explode or ooze or anything else, I do not want you around it." When it came to the sick minds of the DeathEaters, one couldn't be all too sure with that they did to protect what was theirs.

Bill smiled when Fleur joked, it was nice to see her back to herself, or at least as close as she was going to be given what she'd had to endure over the last month. "You do, but you also have a husband who does not want to see his wife catch some nasty cold due to a lowered immune system." He leaned down and planted a kiss on Fleur's lips before he walked her out of the house and enfolded her in his arms. With a pop they disappeared.

And reappeared moments later at the apparition spot in Diagon Alley. "Since we're here, do you know what you'd like?"

"I will watch over your shoulder," sure she would prefer to be more hands on but Fleur knew Bill had a point. It wasn't even worth pointing out she had touched the box numerous times previously. "Be faster if you have someone doing all the tedious research for you." That was something she could do.

Fleur have him a look but said nothing as she returned the kiss. Considering the time of year she figured she didn't have to worry about colds. She had managed to make it through the tail end of cold and flu season so as far as she was concerned there was nothing to worry about.

She tensed a bit staring down Diagon Alley, recalling the day she had been there last; the day she must have ran into Bellatrix. Fleur said nothing though in an attempt to hide how she felt.

"Hm, maybe something French?" French comfort food sounded good to her and certainly they would have something her husband would like too. "Crêpes sound good for dessert."

"That's more like it." Bill said as he laid a brief kiss to Fleur's lips. "And you can help with the tedious research should you feel the need to. I'm slowly piecing the runes together, its hard when there is no true rhyme or reason to them. But, enough talk of something we don't have."

"French is good, and crepes are just as good." He felt the moment of hesitation in Fleur as she tensed under memories he couldn't stop her from having. "Hey, if you don't think you can do this, we can go somewhere else."

"I do feel the need," she pointed out. It wasn't like she had much to do when she wasn't working. That was the one thing about work it kept her busy. Now she had nothing to do but fret, worry and walk around aimless pretending she had something to do. At least this way she would be doing something useful with her time. Something that didn't add to the endless worry that had take up residence in her stomach as of late.

"A raspberry peach crêpe..." Fleur said deciding that it sounded good as she drew in a steadying breath and let it out slowly. If she went some where else it was as good as letting Bellatrix win and she wasn't going to allow her to take that from her too. "Non, 'ere is good." With that Fleur drew herself upright and forced herself to walk. The memories were there but it didn't mean she had to let them get the better of her. Putting on a "game face" was something she had perfected long ago. It kept people from knowing how she really felt.

"The usual place?" There was only really one true French establishment in the area and they were typically regulars there. "You are coming to my appointment in a couple weeks right?" She asked already knowing the answer. It was an attempt to focus on something other than the memories bubbling under the surface.
