Thirty days. It had only been a month but it had felt like longer, a lifetime even since she had seen more than the four walls of her prison. Yet it was all she could think of. Think of the cold dampness of the floor, the way the Cruciatus Curse lingered in the throbbing of your bones and every time she closed her eyes she could still hear Bellatrix laughing in delight at her pain. Shifting Fleur rolled onto her side a bit only to be met with a stabbing pain in her side that made her yelp and the healers aid to remind her for the millionth time to lay still and try to get some sleep.

For the millionth time she asked after Bill and for the millionth time they assured her they had sent for him and that was all that they could do. Maybe she would like help cleaning up and that would make her feel better? And because it took too much energy to argue Fleur let them do it. Let them wash the dirt and blood from her body and brush her hair. Honestly it didn't make her feel better but worse. The bruises that blossomed on her skin seemed more pronounced without the dirt to less their shades of purple. At least Bill wouldn't have to see her looking how she had when she came in.

The healers assistants were nice; asking here questions about her plans for her baby when they wanted to ask her about what had happened to her. Fleur could hear them whisper from the hallway and it only made their questions all the more irritating. So she ignored them and allowed herself to drift off to sleep. Exhausted didn't begin to cover how tired she was and Fleur figured she would just rest, sleep even, until Bill got there knowing she would hear his footsteps in the hall. Half asleep or not she had grown accustomed to listening for footsteps in the hall.

So she waited.

"Soon. I'll take you home real soon. They haven't told me yet, if there's any complications for you... Or the little one." He let go of her hand and laid it against her stomach, the swell of pregnancy just barely visible beneath the sheet.

"As soon as they come in and let me know that everything is alright, I will scoop you up and take you home. They want to keep you for a few days, I refuse to allow you to stay here." He set his mouth in a thin line, a true sign that he was not going to waver on where he stood. "When you get home, you are on bed rest for a week. Anything you want, or need, will be catered to you by me."

"Everything will be fine," Fleur protested softly as her delicate features twisted into something resembling a pout. "They told me they healed everything they could and said there is something I can put on the bruises that will make them go away in a week or so." She told him her accent getting more pronounced as she got agitated and tired again. The. Again Fleur has a feeling the healers' desire to keep her there for a few days for observations were more psychological than physical.

And that reminded her she had something to show him. Reaching for the stack of papers on the bedside, which she needed to fill out at some point when she was feeling better, Fleur handed Bill the top thing; a photograph from the ultrasound they had given her when she first got there. She had begged them to wait for Bill, as he should be there for the first one, but they had insisted because of the emergency around her arrival. Insisted they needed to know the baby's condition before they could start treatment.

This time it was her turn to rest a gentle hand upon her stomach. "Bill I..." Fleur attempted to blink back the tears but once they started to fall she was powerless to stop them and pregnancy and exhaustion only compounded it. The healer had warned her the shock of the situation would hit her at random moments, sometimes by surprise. Maybe she wasn't as okay as she thought.

"I want to go home," she told him again even though he already knew it.

Bill had been about to protest Fleur's comment that everything was fine. He's never ask her what happened to her where ever she had been, but he knew it must have caused some real damage. However, all of that changed the moment she handed him the paper. "Is this...?" He asked, his voice low as his gaze flicked from the image to her and back again. "It looks like a peanut or a...a...a bean. Were they able to tell what it is? Boy or girl? I don't want to continue to call our baby an 'it'."

He looked up again, this time to see the tears that glistened in Fleur's eyes. He was torn only a moment before he pushed himself up from the chair and bent to scoop her up as well. A hand beneath her back, and one under her knees, Bill lifted her off the bed and turned to view the room. "They can send us the paperwork you need to fill out. You are going home." That said, he left the room with her and walked down the hall, ignoring those who would have stopped him.

"If there weren't blocks on apparation within the room, I would have just left from there." At the lift, he stepped into the box and indicated for it to go down to the main floor. When it stopped, he stepped out and out the front doors. Only then was he able to apparate.

When they reappeared at the door to their home, he paused a moment before he struggled to open the door. "These last few weeks have been hell and housework was the furthest thing from my mind. Please, just close your eyes, don't look at the mess. I'll start cleaning once I know you don't need anything else."

Despite the tears in her eyes Fleur couldn't help but crack a smile. Normally it was her that was the impatient one. "Non, not yet mon amour. It will be a few more weeks before they can tell." At first Fleur had thought she didn't want to know but now she did though she already had a feeling it was a girl. That one we will go to together."

Fleur didn't protest his line of thinking. Instead she snuggled close to his chest as she draped her arms around his neck loosely. Home was somewhere she would be able to sleep more readily and Bill would more than make sure she got her rest. What she wanted was to go home, put one of his t-shirts on and just curl up in bed with him under the blankets.

Normally Fleur would have protested at the state of their house being a clean freak but today she didn't much care; it wasn't really that bad anyhow. She was happy to be home. Be somewhere familiar. Somewhere where she knew what all the tiny noises were and knew for sure no one would hurt her. That alone was a greater comfort.

"You can clean tomorrow," Fleur told him. "Lay with me until I fall asleep?" She was still undecided on if she wanted to tell him about what had happened now or later.

Bill nodded his head, the scruff of a stubbled chin brushing against the top of Fleur's head as he made his way to the stairs that would lead up. "Do you need anything to eat? Or should I wait until you wake up?" He asked, his boots loud against the hollow stairs.

At the landing, he turned down the hall and into their room. For the first time since Bill had picked her up at St Mungos, he set her down into the soft comfort of their bed. With the fitful sleep he'd had since he returned home, the bed was not made which made it easier to get her under the covers. The comforter pulled up to tuck her in. Once she was tucked in, Bill moved around to his side of the bed and slid in next to her.

"Come here." He said, holding his arm out to slide her closer to him.

Eating was probably something she should do but Fleur found she wasn't really that hungry. They had tried to feed her at the hospital too telling her she needed the liquids and the baby needed the food but she still hadn't wanted anything. She hadn't wanted anything anymore than she wanted anything now.

"I will eat something later," she told him softly figuring it wasn't exactly a lie.

He didn't need to tell her twice as she snuggled closer to him shifting slightly with small whimpers as she tried to find a comfortable pain free position. Once she was settled Fleur sank into the comfort of their bed and her husband's embrace.

"Bill, I am sorry," she whispered to him after laying there for awhile unable to sleep. "I should have been more careful." Fleur was quiet a long moment. "I should have paid more attention even in the middle of a crowded street." She couldn't deny it was a tiny bit her fault because she had been careless to a degree.

"Shhh..." Bill whispered as he kissed her temple. "There is no reason to be sorry, and you are not at fault. You were in the public on a crowded street at that. There shouldn't have been any reason for you to be on guard. I should apologize to you though. I kept trying to firecall and there was no one here. I thought you might have gone to stay at the Burrow, or that you were working late. You were already missing for a week and a half by the time word came to me. I dropped everything and returned home. The box was gone, Ginny took it. Had she give me the box I could have had you free in no time at all."

He would have to. He would have sacrificed everything if it meant he could have his wife back. When he finished talking, he rubbed at her back and shoulder, mindful of the marks that were still visible, in an attempt to help ease the tightness in her body. "You know I'd move Heaven and Hell if it meant I was able to have you back." That said, he stopped rubbing her back and tipped her head back in order to give her a kiss.

Fleur nodded though she wasn't sure she quite agreed with them. When they did what they did, especially in the Order, they should always be on guard. "You have no reason to be sorry Bill..." Fleur reassured him softly. She knew he would have tried, just like she knew he was trying to get all his business trips out of the way now so he could be home later in her pregnancy and after their baby was born. Even with their big family and her parents money, they were going to need money to raise their baby. "I doubt Bellatrix Lestrange has ever made a fair trade..."

"I know you would have," that had never been something she had considered. Fleur felt her breathe catch in her chest right before his lips met her own. They were just as warm and sweet as always. Fleur relaxed further into his embrace returning her husband's kiss rather ardently suddenly aware of just how much she had missed him.

"I do. I should have been here with you. Not off on another continent in the middle of the desert with ancient objects. I should have been with you out on that street." It was one of the things he had blamed himself over since his return from Egypt. "No, I don't think she has." He said in agreement.

After that, there was no more need for words as he continued to kiss her. His fingers curled into her hair as he smoothed it back away from her face. He was gentle in all he did, not wanting to cause her any sort of pain.

"Your here now," Fleur muttered against the soft contour of his lips. His being there now was what mattered the most to her. The rest of it she didn't bother arguing with him knowing she couldn't sway his mind once it was made up. Instead she returned his kiss.

"I love you," she whispered softly against his lips before pressing another tender kiss to his lips. He knew that already but she couldn't tell him enough. And despite everything that had happened she was both relieved and happy. Even though her pregnancy has been completely accidental, Fleur found she was excited about that too now that the shock had worn off.

"You are too, and I love you as well." He said with a soft tone as he kissed her one more time. "But now, you need to sleep."

When he said that, Bill settled back into his pillow and looked up at the ceiling. He started to rub her back again as his other hand smoothed her hair. "I should be able to get some sleep as well. There's been more alcohol that sleep in my system since I found out."

Fleur settled into the softness of their bed and the warmth of his embrace as she pillowed her head against his chest, listening to the steady thrum of his heart beat under her head. Sleep would be easy for to get now that she was home.

"I hope so," Fleur said softly glad that he would be able to get some sleep too. She couldn't condone his drinking either because she could understand the need and the impulse. She left it at that as she drifted off to sleep.
