Who: Bill and Ginny
What: Talk
Where: Shell Cottage
When: Saturday night
Rating: There will be cursing.
Status: Incomplete

It had been a long last couple of weeks. Before he ever left, Bill had asked Fleur if she felt she was safe having the box within her possession while he was away on business. In typical Fleur fashion, she let him know she'd be safe. And if anything happened, there was a whole herd of Weasleys around to protect her. So imagine is surprise when word came that Fleur was missing.

Over the past week, he'd tried to talk to her though fire-calls, only to find that no one was there at home. However, with work and prep for the Carnival he didn't think much of it. He even thought she might have gone to spend time with his mum. Anything other than the fact his wife was missing.

Once word got to him, Bill dropped what he'd bee working on, grabbed his bag, and left. To hell with Egypt. Griggotts would understand. Now, he paced about, angry at himself and full of rage at whoever it was had her. Godric! He was ready to hunt them all down until he found who had her.

Ginny flinched a bit but held her ground. It wasn't really surprising to her that her brother would act as he was. It was how he had always been. "Why? Not like you knew this was going to happen Bill. No one did." Ginny would have thought they would have aimed for someone else honestly.

"Something you want to share with the class Bill? Because last I checked Fleur was the one of us that always handled herself." She pointed out as she cocked one eyebrow wondering what it was that her brother wasn't saying. Maybe it was nothing but it sure seemed like it.

"Depends on what you're going to do with the box."

"And what? You don't find it a little too convenient I was shipped off to Egypt just days after we got the box? Or that this happened while I was gone? They have the Ministry Ginny! Don't you think they could have the bank as well?" It hadn't taken him long to put the theory together, it was something that had been nagging at him the entire time he'd been gone.

"I'm going to leverage the box for my wife. What do you think I'm going to do with it." He stated, ignoring the question he'd been asked. At this point, there wasn't any proof his wife was still alive let alone the child she carried.

She chewed her lip a moment. "I think things happen Bill." She told him honestly. "You have been trying to get the goblins to our side since the war broke out nearly five years ago without much work. I don't think the other side just swept in and scooped them up overnight." It didn't seem very goblin like. I guess it was possible but Ginny didn't think it was likely. "It seems more like a crime of opportunity."

"That's making a deal with the devil Bill. There is no guarentee they would play and if they did they could still play us." It was always a possible. "There is no way to tell the person they give back is really Fleur. Polyjuice isn't that hard to make and they have ways to get information from people." It wasn't like she was trying to be mean but just realistic.

"We have to be sure first."

"Right now, its the only option I have." He said as he heaved a frustrated sigh. "She's pregnant, Ginny. Its not just her I have to worry about, or more to the point that she has to worry about. If it was, I'm sure she'd be fine."

Forgetting the broken shards of glass that littered the floor, Bill took the bottle of FireWhiskey and drank right from there. "If the roles were reversed I'm sure you'd be willing to make that deal with the Devil."

All the options she might have thought of died on her tongue at her brother's confession. Pregnant? Fleur? She looked at him a bit aghast by the sudden announcement. "Since... Since when?" She spit out once she could find her voice. It certainly was a game changer and if she thought about it she shouldn't be surprised as all the signs had been there. They had all chalked the fatigue, sickness and lack of appetite up to long hours at work instead of pregnancy and morning sickness. It wasn't like they had been trying to have children so no one had been looking for the symptoms.

With a wave of her wand Ginny cleaned up the broken glass on the floor before someone cut themselves on it and for something to do while she sorted her thoughts. "Doesn't change what I said Bill. How do we even know there is something to deal for?" It just seemed odd to her that they hadn't tried to lever a deal for the box yet if that was what they had been aiming for. "Wouldn't they have tried already?" Maybe they were just trying to unnerve them by making them wait.

"She's nearly three months along." He said as he leaned against the counter, his eyes drawn to the ring on his finger. Right now, he felt like he'd been an ultimate failure, he failed to keep her safe. "I've known for almost two months. We were going to wait another couple of weeks before we told anyone."

"I don't know why they haven't. I don't know anything. I just got back here. None of this makes sense to me. How long has she bee missing? Do you know the answer to that one?"

"Mum is going to kill you, you know." Ginny added while she still tried to process what she was hearing. Sure it was understandable why they hadn't wanted to tell anyone but that didn't mean that Molly wasn't going to freak out. It was the type of news their mum would have expected to hear immediately then she would surely lecture on the poor timing and difficult situations. What were they thinking?! Ginny could hear it now. "You could have said something sooner, Merlin Bill. Does anyone else know?" It was always possible the Death Eaters didn't know either.

Ginny chewed on her lip still thinking. "Before the Carnival... Maybe a day or two before?" Truth was she wasn't certain. It wasn't like she was in the habit of talking to Fleur on a daily basis. "She had that Wednesday and Thursday off so no way to be sure. She was at work Tuesday though. So sometime between Tuesday night and Friday." So they were looking at nearly a week and a half either way.

"She will not. I'm bringing her her first grandchild. She will be elated. That is, if I can get Fleur back." If she is still alive to get back. He thought bitterly. "It wasn't my place to tell. There's a silly superstition about jinxing a pregnancy by announcing before the second term. Something about how it ups the chance of miscarriage. We wanted to wait until she made it into the second trimester before we told anyone."

"Yeah I think someone found out from work. Damn goblins have to blurt shit out in front of people who shouldn't know. The Malfoy prat, he had opened a vault ad asked for her help. She says something happened to her while they were alone together down there, but she's not sure what it is. Something about he was behind her and then he was infront, when there was no way that could have happened. He gave some lame excuse about he fainted and it was probably because of the pregnancy." Bloody fucking hell! He never should have left her! This was all his fault. "Damnit!"

"So it take a week and a half before people began to realize something happened to my wife?!" Bill close his eyes and tried to calm himself down before he said anything he'd later regret saying. "I want that box Ginny. I will have that box. And I will get my wife back. Now, you can either get it, or I'm going straight to Mum." That would be a showdown of the ages. Forget Harry and the Dark Lord, a fiercely determined Bill against his mum, the Queen of stubbornness would go into the history books for sure.

Ginny's face worked itself into a skeptical frown. "Yeah, after she's done strangling you for keeping it a secret for so long. You know mum, she wants to know everything ASAP." It was just how Molly was. "So yeah, you knocked up your wife congrats." Ginny said brushing a strand of hair out of her face. Things kept getting more complicated by the minute.

"Are you really surprised Bill?" Not that it made it right but it was pretty hard to keep a pregnancy a secret for very long. "Malfoy is a prat but do you know he really cares enough to go around causing this kind of trouble? Seems like a lot of work for someone that's too worried about chasing some blonde bird around." Either way it didn't change the fact that there was a chance the Death Eaters knew.

She was done being nice, "And where were you Bill? There are ways to keep in contact with people. Didn't you realize something was wrong when you hadn't heard from her in a week and a half?" This wasn't completely their fault though they had their share of the blame. "Go tell mum see if I care," she snapped back holding her ground just as stubborn as the rest of the Weasleys. "She doesn't know where it is anyhow. Someone has to keep you from doing something bloody stupid. If you haven't noticed I've been trying my hardest here to figure this bloody mess out! I get it you're upset and you want Fleur back but we have to do this right."

Bill glared at his baby sister and couldn't hold his tongue any more. "I thought you were past this petty shit, Ginny. I thought I could trust you to make sure she was safe. I am not saying be her shadow, but maybe check in once in awhile. If it were Hermione who had the box in her position, you know you'd have checked in on a daily basis. Its because it's Fleur and the two of you never saw eye to eye that you didn't care. What the hell is the point of having this be a safe house for everyone to meet if no one cares if the people who live here are alive or dead? Just get out Gin." Bill didn't wait to see Ginny leave, instead he picked the bottle up and went to find somewhere he'd be alone.

If his mother didn't know where the box was, there were endless possibilities as to who would have it. He'd never find out who had it, and all that did was make him more desperate. A week and a half Fleur was missing. A week and a half of Godric only knows what happened to her! He knew she was alive, she had to be, he just needed to get to her. Some how.

Ginny knew she shouldn't but she couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Did you forget who we're talking about here Bill? Fleur doesn't want to be checked up on. She can do everything remember?" Perfect Fleur could do everything typically and that was one thing that did irk Ginny. "She wouldn't have let us check up on her. We would have been tossed out on our arses for suggesting it."

She sighed and reached for her jacket. "But as I don't apparently care you can do this all on your bloody own then. Good luck with that Bill." Ginny snapped as she pulled her jacket on and stormed off. It wasn't like she wanted to leave and she knew he didn't mean it, but it still hurt regardless.
