Who: Renata Selwyn & Alexander Yaxley
Where: Renata's home, Selwyn Manor
What: Old friends coming together
When: Dinner
Rating: R

Renata was seated in the parlor of the manor, she was dressed smartly in a little black dress with black heels that had deep red snakeskin on their soles and the heel. A diamond studded necklace graced her throat and glittered in the candle light. She had her long hair down, pinned back neatly enough to keep it out of her eyes. And she was done up with dark makeup, the color of mourning, despite the fact she was overjoyed. Instead she played the part of the weeping widow and kept to the house, draped the walls and portraits with black cloth and prepared for the memorial and funeral. Inside she was dancing, she couldn't believe her luck. FINALLY.

She walked the line of decency with the fact her dress was hemmed to her mid-thigh instead of the floor, and dared to wear her diamonds, but she was growing weary of being 'sad' and 'dutifully depressed'. It was making her sick. So she sent an invitation out to Alexander and settled in for a wait. He had been her confidant - so it was with him she'd share the joy of the death of Torin. She smiled as her house elf bobbed in, announcing that her guest had arrived. She waved the elf off with a curt gesture, indicating she should bring Alexander here. She settled back into her chair by the fire, and smiled as the doors opened again.

"I figured you were enjoying it," Alexander remarked lightly. Others may not have seen it but he could see the twitches and hits of smiles on her face and in her remark. With a prat as a husband Alexander could hardly blame her. Torin was someone that was better off dead.

"Amen to that," Alexander said with a grin as he downed his shot and poured a them another round. There was nothing more soothing than the burn of the alcohol as it went down. "I only wish I could have been there or even better done it myself."

Relatives. Ugh. It was something he was glad he didn't have a lot of and the ones he did have knew better than to bother him. "Send them home. Tell them you need time or something." People liked to hear that type of thing.

She licked her lips slowly as she sat upwards and smiled. "Of course I was. He wasn't worth the ground we walk upon." she snarled faintly. His death released her from her prison and she was hell bent on enjoying it. He had ruined her life. And she was glad she was a master of hiding her emotions - the tiny twitches were all that slipped out now, every one else thought it was pain.

She drained the second shot, savoring the burn. "I'm glad he's gone. It'd have been nice to watch you do it. Or even for me to get it done myself." she purred as she shifted in her seat and leaned forward.

"Oh I have. I told them to scram, in more polite words of course, because I don't feel like dealing with them right now." she smirked a bit. "I'm ready for a party."

"You do deserve someone that would admire you properly," Alexander told her with a nod as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. Who that person was he didn't know but it had never been Torin. "Now you will have your choice should you want it." Alexander didn't worry so much any more, Ren was more than capable of taking care of herself.

Alexander smiled a slow sinister smile. Oh, it would have been a thing of beauty if he had done it but the opportunity had never presented itself. "You know I would have let you help love." Payback for all the pain and suffering that he had inflicted on her. If Alexander was being honest the man had unfortunately gotten an easy death.

"You know we could always go hunting..." Alexander said with a wicked grin.

Renata smiled at him. "Ah of course." she gestured lazily as if it didn't matter now. She wanted to have fun, not worry about someone suitable. There was time for that, after all, whenever she felt inclined to reattempt marriage. She moved, finally, and plucked a pair of tumblers off the shelf and filled them.

She sipped from her glass as she handed the other to Alexander. "Of course you would have. You appear to be the only one however." her eyes sparkled. "Now, then, with my only close tie to the organization gone, how ever shall I continue to be of assistance?" she practically purred. She wondered how far any of the Death Eaters would be willing to trust her now, but she was who she was, a pureblood to the very core.

A smile lit up her face and made her eyes dance. "Oh how much fun that would be!" she grinned a touch "I fear I am out of practice, though."

He graciously accepted the glass not questioning what was in it. People of their status rarely drank anything that was not worth drinking. It was one perk of their position. "You shall find ways to make yourself useful I am more than sure." Alexander pointed out easily knowing she was the type that would make herself valuable. It was the only way the Dark Lord kept any of them around.

"Then we shall get you in practice my love," he said a wicked grin creeping across his face. "Practice does make perfect as they say. Perhaps you would like to change your clothes before we go out? Something a bit more practical?"

Renata only drank the finest of alcohol, after all. She sipped from the glass, it was another fine whiskey - but she was tired of shot glasses. "Of course. I have my means." she gestured lazily, as if to say I offer myself and my home, before smiling wickedly. She might not be marked (only because her husband denied her the chance)but she'd fight along side them in any fashion possible.

"I like that idea." she mused with a smirk. She tucked a loose strand of hair out of her eyes. "That is very true. I suppose I could not deny myself the chance to get my hands dirty." She was less crazy than say, Bella or Aerilyn, but she did like to get dirty. As long as most of the Death Eaters never knew it, she was happy. She had an image to uphold after all. She grinned and slithered off her seat again, lazily beckoning him to follow. She had a screen in her room for a reason and she like the conversation.

She ducked into her room and behind the screen, setting the glass of whiskey down on the edge of a dresser. She slid free of her dress, her form silhouetted against the screen. She threw it over the top before disappearing for a moment to procure herself some other items of clothing. She pulled on a pair of leather pants and shimmied into a tank top before pulling her long hair into a pony tail. She stepped out from behind the screen and smiled. "I think these are better suited to the task at hand, right?"

Alexander shrugged his shoulders as he slid from his chair and followed her as she beckoned. It wasn't like he was a stranger to her bedroom and not in the way most would think. Their conversation surely had its merits.

He looked her up and down taking stock in her clothing and their functionality. It would work and it did make her look rather attractive. "Those will do nicely love."

Alexander stood there still a moment while he pondered their possibilities. There was a small muggle town near by that wouldn't miss a few teenagers. There were some that liked to wonder out late at night on stupid Halloween dares.

"Ever fancy a game of cat and mouse in a cemetery?"

Renata never had people in her rooms that weren't confidants. If Alexander ever betrayed that trust, she had no problem dropping him down the darkest, deepest hole she could find, and that was being kind. She did like him after all. But Renata was an honest woman, if vicious, and she never laid with anyone outside of her marriage. She did not believe in the act of cheating. Now, plotting murder was another story.

She smirked as she pulled on a pair of soft leather boots that muffled her foot falls. Not that she clomped around much, anyways. But it was the thought that counted there. She smirked at him. "Of course they will do. I had them sewn for comfort and functionality." she paused at a dresser and dug through a drawer until a hidden drawer popped out.

She pulled out a pair of needle thin blades and tucked them neatly into sewn pockets, also adding her wand into place. Renata smirked a touch. "I like the sound of that." she mused with a tilt of her head, lips curling into a smirk. "It could be a lot of fun." she nodded lightly before grabbing her cloak for a hidden exit.

Alexander shook his head. He was used to being around the "society" type of girls and their custom clothes. Personally he thought it was a little silly but he could see why they did it. Whatever. "I am sure you did love." Long as she could move and watch his back should something happen, like the Order showing up, that was all he cared about.

"It will be," Alexander said with a smirk. He had been stalking the group for a while. They made it a habit to dare a new person from that muggle school of theirs to venture into the cemetery so they could scare the hell out of them. This time they would get more than they bargained for.

He tucked his wand into his robes. "Are we going the non-magic route tonight?" Unlike most he didn't mind a little blood and a little cold steel in his work. It was much more creative than magic.

"After you my dear," he told her as he motioned to the door.

She'd happily kick him for thinking that way if she knew. She grinned inwardly, she liked being comfortable. That was what personal seamstresses were for, right? Renata smiled warmly and pushed the pony tail over her shoulder.

"I hope so. I really enjoy a little fun." she nodded. "I'm content without magic but am more than happy to resort to it if necessary." she smirked a bit and nodded. She liked the feel of a blade. Magic was easy. Survival via knife was not.

She slid from the room like a snake through water. She moved languidly towards the door opening it and headed outside, taking in a breath of the night air and smiling. She liked the night time, it offered new things and promises of a better tomorrow. "Where to?"
