what: bowling
when: wednesday afternoon
where: morgana's room & bowling ally

Merlin wasn't sure how keen he was on the idea of bowling. He rather liked it on the Wii game. However, he recalled something about wearing other people's shoes, and that the ball was much heavier then the little controller his game required. If that wasn't enough, the fact that Morgana wanted to go out with him, just the two of them, was a little suspect. Not that he didn't think of her as a friend. He cared for her, of course, and in a large group as with the laser tag it was perfectly normal for them to hang out. He'd never really just never really spent time with her exclusively that didn't imply something bad was happening in the background. It would be nice, he thought. Aside from the borrowed shoes, and ten pound balls.

He laced up the worn shoes he'd bought the other day at something called a thrift shop. Merlin rather liked the place, everything was fairly cheap as opposed to the stores in the hall -- or was it mall? Whatever. He'd gotten a nice pair of blue converse shoes, and a t-shirt that had unicorns on it. (He would have to show Arthur some time) He liked the shirt enough, but it seemed to get a lot of odd reactions. People would pass him chanting 'chaaarrliee..' and even weirder things like 'shun the nonbeliever, shuuuun.' At first he thought it was something wrong with him, that the odd younger town folk mistook him for this exiled man named charlie, but soon realized it was only when he wore the shirt.

Treading down the hall, a glance at Arthur's room, then Gwen's as he passed. Arthur was taken care of so far as food was considered, but he'd peek in later regardless just to be sure he didn't need anything. For Gwen he'd been mixing a medicine to help her sleep with hot chocolate, and leaving it in her room at night to hopefully help with the nightmares. Eventually he stopped and knocked on Morgana's door, sparing a glance towards Lancelot's door as well.

Merlin smiled a little more easily, and relaxed as she complimented the top and it's color. He still felt goofy, but that was fine. It was probably for the best that she didn't bring up the myths about unicorns and innocence because really -- then he'd have to got change, and maybe die a little of embarrassment. Those particular stories had been over looked when he was reading. They'd already done the unicorn thing, he didn't think there was any reason to read about it again.

He chuckled a bit, but the bag thrust into his chest managed to keep him from saying anything stupid. Peeking into the top box he made an odd face. They were -- Ugly. Were they for him? Why did Morgana feel the need to buy him a pair of strange leather shoes? His own were a little worn, but hardly that bad.

"Thank you...What are they for?" He didn't want to seem ungrateful. She had gotten something for him, and he would go so far as to actually wear them in public if she asked. Still, he wondered why she'd gotten him not one, but it seemed like two pairs of shoes.

Morgana barely managed to suppress a smile at the look that crossed over his features. The shoes truly were ugly. When he looked back up at her, she easily managed to compose her features. The look she gave him clearly asked, 'What's the matter, Merlin, don't you like them?'.

She smirked at his question. "Clearly I'm the only one capable of proper research." Reaching into the bag she lifted out the box before gently pressing his box against his chest. She had the strangest feeling that he thought both wee for him, given the fact that he didn't know what kind of shoes they were. As she did that, she carefully removed the bag from his grasp. "They're bowling shoes, Merlin." She answered. "I felt that you wouldn't enjoy the experience as much in someone's elses shoes. That's why I bought you your own pair."

Merlin smiled awkwardly, and seemed to breath a little easier when she finally explained they were for the bowling thing so he didn't have to wear borrowed shoes. A little more comfortable with the rather ugly shoes now that he knew their purpose, Merlin held the box, and offered a thankful sort of look. He wondered if the awful style was a requirement for the game, but didn't bother himself with it too much. If everyone would be wearing them, so be it.

"Thank you." He said again, a little more sincere this time. Shifting the box to rest under his arm, he moved back a bit to start out of the apartment building. "Ready to go?"
