WHO: Gwen and Merlin
WHAT: Finishing Arthur's sword
WHEN: Afternoon
WHERE: Gwen's Apartment
RATING: Wont be high
STATUS: Incomplete

Gwen was glad that Merlin could help, it made this task take a lot less time. With what skills he had, she knew they would easily have the sword finished by that night, early morning if need be. It had shocked her the first time she saw Merlin perform magic, and she soon found herself like a little child, excited to see each new thing he could do. She may be getting used to his ability, but that did not mean she was not amazed each time it happened.

She tightened the hair tie holding her hair up, brushing a few strands away. A lot had been added since Merlin was last there. She had inscribed 'Pendragon' on the blade of the sword, and the hilt had already been made just waiting for that final stage so it could be added. She picked up the hilt, smiling at the inscription of a dragon. She had tried rather hard with it, almost wanting to impress him despite knowing she didn't need to. Putting the hilt down, she brushed down her slightly looser trousers, better for the heat, before heading into the living room to wait on Merlin.

"I'm going to be a pro at this when we're done." Merlin smiled and took up the sword again. He had every intention of helping her with all of them. Of course, the longer they were here, the more he thought that swords were a little unnecessary and outdated in this place. Still, he supposed for Arthur and Lancelot it would provide some comfort, a piece of home kind of thing. Even if a sword did look a little strange when paired with normal clothes.

Moving the sword between his hands slowly, looking it over, he turned his attentions back to enchanting it. His eyes turned gold almost immediately, as they were one to do when he attempted any sort of magic. He was trying everything; willing the sword to be magic, spells he recalled from his book back home, enchantments he had learned here... One of them was bound to work. The combination of the three eventually resulted in briefly giving the blade a golden glow. Words and symbols shone even more brightly on the sword before fading into nothing. It had to be said, the sword had a nice shine to it when he was done.

"I think it worked..." He said, more to himself then anything, turning the blade this way and that. In the right light you could see the words and symbols of the enchantment reflected off the sword. It was a curious thing, you'd have to look specifically to spot it.

She laughed at his words, nodding. She kept watching as he continued to enchant the sword. She found it amazing, the way he focused so well on the sword and getting it prepared for the things he wanted to do. Biting her lip, her eyes fell to his, seeing the golden glow and couldn't stop being amazed. One of these days she would get used to seeing him perform magic. Just not yet. When he said it had worked, she pushed herself closer to him to take a proper look.

"Wow," she said with a grin. "So that will protect him?"

"It won't fight off people for him, but it will help...I think." Merlin turned the sword this way and that so she could see the faint markings he'd left on it. Gwen smiling and appreciating what he'd done was nice. Before they'd come here he'd worried what they would all think about his being a sorcerer.

"I could try something similar for the others' swords as well. Though hopefully they won't need to use them here." Merlin wanted to avoid having his friends be in danger, and aside from the fact that they were stolen here from their world, it didn't seem to be with malicious intent so far. Surely something with the power to bring them here could have easily just killed them if that had been the intention, but instead they were provided with lodging and money. Merlin rather enjoyed it here, though he would like to return to Camelot at some point.

She nodded a little, her eyes watching the markings appear and disappear as he moved it. She just hoped Arthur didn't notice them and question it. If she did she would make something up, she knew, but he was good at telling when she was lying. That wasn't really fair though.

"Hopefully none of us will have to. But I guess it's good to be prepared, just in case."

She really didn't want them to have to use these swords at all. Then again, Arthur already had because of her.
