WHO: Albert Wesker and Alice
WHAT: Alice and Wesker are curious about each other.
WHEN: This evening
WHERE: The street near the arrival point.
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete

Wesker touched a gloved fingertip to the centre of his sunglasses, pushing them up securely on his nose. Despite the gathering darkness, he kept them on. Behind the shields of darkened glass, he saw the world beyond perfectly. Much like a raptor, his strange vision gave him more frames per second than the average human saw, leaving the world moving in slow motion in his perception. An unfortunate side-effect was his crimson eyes with the snake-like pupils. He didn't know yet what sorts were in this city, and he had no intentions of standing out when he didn't need to.

To the ordinary observer, he would have looked like anyone walking down the street. He wasn't any more handsome or ugly than the average person. Wesker was the sort that one could see and forget about soon enough afterwards usually. There were exceptions, of course, but he had found them to be far and few. His appearance wasn't one of the things that concerned him when compared to others. He was as he was. He could be set on fire as Alexia had done to him, and his skin healed to its former flawless state within a few minutes. The virus that coursed through his bloodstream did have its uses.

The fact that this 'Alice' knew he was infected wasn't wholly surprising. Claire Redfield never had been able to keep quiet. Her claim that she knew of another was intriguing but impossible. Sergei had been the last, and Wesker had personally executed him. He was the only one.

His head remained tilted a degree or so upwards, listening to the world around him as the crowds thinned to nothingness. His hearing was quite good, and Wesker had no desire to be someone's personal shooting target for the night. Now to wait for this 'Alice'.

Her punch didn't make contact, unfortunately. However the second his hand wrapped around her wrist she got a good idea of what she was up against. However unlike most people, who might be willing to back down, Alice felt her adrenaline kick into overdrive as one single thought flickered through her mind - born from the part of her she did her best to ignore.

Finally, a challenge.

She let him sling her around, waiting until he was prepared to toss her away before she made her next move. Her own arm twisted as she spun. The bones in her wrist made a cracking sound under the pressure, but she was torn free from his grip and used the momentum of the spin to twirl on one foot and twist right back around to face him. Her hand throbbed but she ignored the pain, her attention focused on Wesker and his movements, as she threw a volley of punches at him with her good hand while using her damaged arm to properly block herself.

He wasn't surprised as she was moved with the force of his throw. Beyond the Ivans and Sergei himself, who had been able to stand up to his strength? The crack of bone was quite satisfying.

The surprise came when she countered him.

When she came back up against him, Wesker managed a blink before blows began to impact with his body. At first, he wasn't concerned. After all, he had deflected a steel pipe without so much as a bruise. Pain flared from the first blow, catching him further off-guard. The survival instinct of retreating backwards deserted him until the fourth or so made contact with his skin and a rib splintered beneath the onslaught. Then it finally decided to kick in.

A leap backwards took him away from her and the damage she had managed to inflict. In Wesker's world, that was a new experience. Sergei had managed to hurt him, but the man had needed to mutate to beyond human to do so. It had taken Chris and Sheva to do so after that, not to mention enough weapons to keep a small army going.

There was a wheeze to his voice as he spoke this time, a low and insidious bubbling that was well on its way to repairing itself. A wet snap was heard as his ribs began resetting themselves.

"My dear Alice."

Unlike her, he moved with his full speed, attempting to body-check her in one of his oldest attacks in an attempt to send her flying. Whatever this woman was, he was beginning to believe her claims of being infected might be true.

Alice, too, was satisfied when she heard one of his ribs snap beneath her punch. However it wasn't enough and she would have kept right on coming if he hadn't finally decided to join in the fight full-force. Her arms went up, shielding her face and upper torso from the force of his body-slam into her. It still managed to knock the wind out of her and she was scarcely able to draw a breath as first her boots skid across the asphalt beneath her and then she became airborn.

Crashing through the front window of a fortunately abandoned shop, Alice was on her feet and stepping out of the now-shattered display within milliseconds. Glass rained from her jacket in little shards around her feet, fell from her hair and slid across the leather that she wore. She shook it off as she walked, either unaware or uncaring of the tiny cuts that scattered across her face and arms.

"Nice try," she commented with a feral grin as she made her way toward the man again. She shrugged out of her coat and, as it fluttered silently to the ground, Alice increased her speed to its maximum and all but leaped across the final distance between her and her target. Her arm shot out, fingers intent on grabbing his own arm to pull him close, as she hissed in a voice too low for an average human to hear, "But you're going to have to do better than that."

And then she snapped her head forward, intent on head-butting him directly between his eyes.

"And yet you continue to attack. What kind of beast has the virus made you?"

A razorblade smile rose to his lips, a sense of superiority there. She wasn't the first that he had seen it control and turn to violence instead of think matters through. He stood in the middle of the street and watched her rise once more. The feral smile on her lips merely confirmed what he had suspected. She was not the master but the slave instead.

When she came at him again, he didn't try to move. Instead, his gloved hand rose to rest against her forearms if he could. Heat burnt off him, the once upon a time man's body burning with the heat of a heightened metabolism. Drawn close, his inhuman eyes gaze into her own. While she still had the semblance of humanity, he didn't bother with such with faced with another of his kind so to speak.

"I'm not a beast," he said in that same too quiet voice.

There was a crunch of bone giving beneath her forehead as he pulled his head back. It was followed by the pop and snap of healing taking place. His gaze remained fixed upwards briefly as blood wound its way down the arch of his nose and crept down his cheek. The fire of his eyes reignited as they blazed with their sick light.

"I don't have to. I'm not an animal in a human skin as you are."

With that, he drew back and tried to throw her from him. He was still above it all in his eyes, not letting the virus control him and reduce him to a fighting animal.

"That was quite painful might I add."

"An animal?" Alice scoffed as she picked herself up from where she'd landed after he'd tossed her away from him. There was a humorless smile playing upon her features, ghost-like in its visibility. It faded as she faced off with him, not moving to strike but simply... watching.

"I'm no animal, Wesker," she stated simply. "I'm just a girl who got fucked over by the company she used to work for."

She tilted her head, first to one side, then the other, cracking the bones in her neck as she did so. Straightening up, she rolled her shoulders a bit and the dangerous smile twisted her lips once more. "And as long as you're in this city, and mobile, I'm your worst enemy."

Wesker's head remained tilted back briefly, giving her a short-lived perfect target. The stream of blood running down his face thickened briefly before the slick flow slowed. There was a wet crackling sound as his skull pushed itself back out and into place. A gloved hand wiped across his face, clearing his vision of the blood.

"That will happen with Umbrella. Spencer never was all that good about being faithful to matters or people. However, if you wanted to spread the T-virus about the city, there are simpler ways than this."

He snapped his hand to the side, flecks of red slung off his glove and to the ground. He gave her one of his barely there smiles as he did, not bothering to fully explain that threat or the fact that his blood was tainted with it. In his world, the virus had been spread by rats feeding on corpses. Should one find a patch of his pooled blood from her strikes on him... well, who knew what could happen?

"I have had much worse than you. Brute force only gets you so far. It is always the innocent that suffer, and I doubt you can be everywhere at once."
