"Oh bloody hell." The muttered words were out of his mouth before Regulus could even attempt to stop them. "Your mum?" Fabulous. Just fabulous. Someone else to hate him. Maybe she and Sirius could start a club. The younger Black felt like slapping a hand to his forehead in frustration.
"You haven't met me," he began, sounding much calmer now. Good ol' Black composure. Even though he was cursing himself on the inside for even stepping out his door today, he was perfectly serene on the outside. "But I sort of used to know your mum." Not exactly true, but the questions were likely to keep coming after such a statement, so he might as well continue.
"Well, actually, I'm your mum's cousin. So we... you and I... we're kind of related." Regulus took a steadying breath before continuing on. At least he doubted that this girl would hate him enough to do anything about it. That was the one comforting thing about this place. The worst thing that had happened was his brother shouted at him over those silly electronic contraptions for awhile and he had nearly stumbled into a tiny Dark Lord. Not nearly as bad as he'd feared.
"I'm Regulus. Regulus Black." He briefly considered offering that it was nice to meet her... but he didn't.
