WHO: Gabriel "Sylar" Gray
WHAT: Gabriel is Sylar once again. And he remembers everything.
WHEN: Midday
WHERE: The Park
RATING: PG
STATUS: Narrative; Complete

It was a realization that dawned slowly, memories slipping out and being replaced by others. It was barely noticeable at first until there was less and less familiar left that he could cling to, and finally, as the last isolated thought slipped away, Sylar clicked back into place where Gabriel had been a moment before. It was an overwhelming sensation, being hit with it gradually and yet all at once at the same time. He remembered everything, and he felt lost in the sea of the last few weeks, the memories conflicting firmly with what he knew to be true. People hated him. And yet... What he remembered....

He couldn't breathe. A quiet horror and grief had gripped his chest, and he couldn't breathe. Squeezing his eyes closed, trying to calm the torrent of his mind, Sylar fixed his hand firmly against the branch of a tree, and almost collapsed to the side as the tree dissolved to dust in his hand. Well... that was some frustration out, at least? Though, it was too bad. That had been a very nice tree.

But even if the tension had eased, and he didn't feel quite as panicked as before, that didn't change anything. He needed to get away. He needed to find somewhere to breathe for awhile, to be able to sort out these conflicting feelings and memories. But there was only one place that he could think of. So, privately appreciating the irony of the situation, Sylar pushing himself tall as he started, without so much as a second thought, to return to the entrance of the abandoned subway tunnels.
