Kathy startled slightly, breath drawn in, and eyes widening just a bit, before she forced herself to calm down. In her head she heard both Liam and Wesley warning to keep walking, but she was currently upset and also defensive at this man's accusation. And a part of her, who truly wasn't as irrational as one would think (she took lessons from television to heart, it did know what it was talking about, so it seemed) realized that if he wanted to harm her, he could easily grab her if she tried to run away, and that might even anger him. If he reached towards her, she was stabbing him with the stake-vampire or no-and fitting herself into a tight corner to hide until the trouble passed.
Wrapping one hand around the straps of her small purse and wrapping the other partially around her middle, she stared up at him with solemn eyes, taking a slight step back when he had moved forward but making no other movement. "It is no' as if I was askin' ta find meself lost." Her typical lilting accent slightly sharp. Taking another small breath, upbringing slammed sharply behind emotion. Just as automatic. There was no reason to place her sadness and lonliness ... or irritation at his point, on him. It wasn't his fault and it wasn't polite. Especially when he'd only expressed concern for her person ... thus far. "'M sorry." She muttered. "Before I was lost but now I have figured out the map an' I will be on me way. Thank ye for yer concern."
She wasn't certain how people in this time parted, exactly. She thought it was rude to just walk away, just like that, so she gave him a little curtsey, gave him a pointed look that was unconsciously, very much her brother's. And turned around and walked away. She had no idea where she was going but she'd figure it out, however. she wasn't about to tell him that.
