Eliot hung back, eyeing an empty shopping car. The owner was a few feet away, arguing with someone on his cell phone over which tent was the best buy. He hooked his fingers around the front and tugged it his way, dropping the arm load into the basket after he'd cleared the aisle. Leaving it nearby, he hurried to catch up with Parker once again. He chuckled quietly, knowing the exact disapproving look she was refering to, although in the last few months they'd worked together, he hadn't seen it much. Once the team got into the rhythm of really helping people.
He let Parker do the talking, browsing the selection of knives on display in front of him. The social interaction was good for her. His gaze lingered over one of the knives in the case, about to point it out to Parker as a prospect for Noah when the clerk redirected his attention towards him. Eliot shot Parker a look when the man turned his back, mouthing 'because you're a girl?' before walking around her to meet salesman.
She was up to something and he was going to give her the time she needed to work. He gave the man a small smile. "Like she said, we're looking for something with a few tricks to it. It's for the son of a mutual friend. He just became a Boy Scout and he's taking the motto to heart." Eliot laughed and turned towards the cabinet, pointing to one of the knives towards the top. He knew knives but instead let the salesman earn his paycheck.
"How about that one?" The man unlocked the case, pulling out the specified model. As he did, Eliot glanced back at Parker before turning his attention back to the knife and the man holding it, firing off questions.
