Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Loki Laufeyson & Parker
WHAT: Loki does not like this marriage thing. He doesn't like it at all. Especially not since his new 'spouse' is someone with whom he shares a mutual hatred.
WHEN: February 14th; Morning [Backdated]
WHERE: Loki's apartment
RATING: PG-13 (to be safe)
STATUS: In Progress

It had been a shock. Loki had woken up feeling more at peace than he had in some time and had rolled over to greet Neria. It had been a second too late before he'd realized that the shock of black hair that normally accompanied the other figure in the bed was, in fact, blond, and that his lips had fallen onto the cheek of someone who was very much not the woman he was in a relationship with. Instead, they were the cheeks of a stranger, or rather, a not-so-stranger as her face had taken shape in his vision has the sleepy fog had cleared. Parker. Since his first arrival in the city, since their first encounter, his first encounter, they had hated each other. She's taken something of his, an act which may have proven beneficial eventually but still played upon his last nerve, and things had only compounded from there. So to wake finding her in his bed was an unacceptable circumstance.

He'd tried to retreat only to be cut down by intense pain and locating the ring on his finger had only proven to frustrate him as it was impossible to remove. Magic hadn't given him any clues how to undo the situation so eventually, he had had little more to do than collapse into the chair closest the bedroom and wait for the inevitable encounter between the two of them.

This wasn't going to be any fun. Especially since he'd probably get into even more trouble for doing exactly what he wanted to at the moment, which was completely immobilize her until he figured out some way that he could leave and find Neria.

Loki was equally as confused as she was. Granted, for entirely different reasons. He knew all too well why they might have been thrust together. He'd gathered that the goal of most of these little games was to make the inhabitants as uncomfortable as possible and beyond taking him away from Neria, sticking him with the one person that he would likely be unable to make any headway with was definitely the best way to make him uncomfortable. The only worse option, Loki could see, would have been to stick him with Clint, and even then, that was more cruel to Barton than it was to him.

Glancing up at Parker made her appearance from the bedroom, Loki offered her the best sympathetic smile that he could muster under the circumstances. "Unfortunately, this isn't a dream. Were it, I would be quite capable of manipulating the circumstances to my advantage. As it is, we're stuck together," He said, folding his hands in his lap before offering her a bit of a shrug as his best explanation to why it had to be him.

"Perhaps our host is attempting to foster communication between parties who would otherwise avoid each other," Loki suggested. "Or we were merely unlucky in the draw. It doesn't really seem like the why should matter beyond the fact that it is. So. Breakfast? I imagine this may be easier to deal with on a full stomach."

Ugh. He was talking. Why was he talking. Parker scowled at him, willing him to stop making words come out of his mouth. Even his voice annoyed her.

"I don't want breakfast," she snapped. "I want you to go away and stay away." Even as she said the words, though, she was heading toward the kitchen. She knew how this worked. The more she tried to avoid the "requirements", the worse it would get. No, for however long this lasted, she was going to have to share meals with him whenever possible. As well as a bed.

And her money.

Going completely still, eyes wide and back ramrod straight, it was obvious that last thought had truly horrified her. Quickly she yanked her PDA from her pocket. Muttering a repeating mantra of "not my money, not my money, not my money", she pulled up the information about her bank account. Her now joint bank account, she realized with a sinking sensation. "Freeman, you are going to pay for this. Just wait until we go for ice cream again," she all but growled, shoving her PDA back inside her pocket before storming into the kitchen and dropping down into the nearest seat with an audible huff.

"If it helps, I rarely need to make any expenditures," Loki said, having followed her into the kitchen. He knew that keeping close likely wasn't going to endear him, but he'd rather do that than wander a little too far and prompt another burst of pain for the both of them. "But as far going away, that isn't an option. I already attempted that, and the results were...unpleasant, to say the least. I highly doubt you want me to try that again," He said before crossing over to the fridge to fish out something to make for them to eat. Because she needed to eat, and it was unlikely that she could do it on her own. He wasn't entirely certain of the rules of this place, but if they were "married", it was likely they would be expected to do things as a couple.

"As it is, I will attempt to be more tolerable than I usually am if you assure me you'll attempt to same," Loki said, glancing back over his shoulder at Parker. He didn't entirely expect her to agree, but he was making the offer at least to show that he was willing to try and work through this. He wouldn't be surprised if things devolved from here on out, but well, he could still say he'd tried.
