WHO: Lexi Branson and Connor Temple
WHAT: They're themselves again. Lexi goes to check on Connor
WHEN: Sunday, December 2nd. Morning
WHERE: Connor's apartment
RATING: Probably G
STATUS: In Progress

The first thing Lexi became aware of when she woke up was her thirst. It wasn't the, 'Oh, my mouth is dry, I need some water' type, but more like the 'OMG, if I don't have some blood, I'm going to rip someone's throat out type.' In fact, her thirst might have been what woke her up in the first place. Brown eyes shot open and he was sitting up so fast that it would have given anyone else a head rush, which was just one more thing that clued her in to the fact that she was in fact a vampire again. A sound grew her attention to her left and she realized it was the sound of Tom's heart beating as he slept and since she had no intention of hurting the creature, she got up and was in the kitchen in seconds flat. While she'd given Connor and Daryl some of her blood supply, she still had plenty in the kitchen and had downed an entire bag before the fridge door had even shut. Feeling better, Lexi leaned back against the kitchen counter and lifted her left hand, which still gripped the empty bag, gaze zeroing in on her ring and let out a sigh of relief. Her daylight ring, which Huck had made for her. While she'd been worried about the well-being of her friends while they'd been vampires, she'd also been a little worried about her ring, but once she'd found out that Jude was the one who had it, her mind had been put at ease, because if anyone knew what the ring meant to her, it would be Jude.

Tossing the empty bag in the trash, Lexi ran her hands through her long, blond hair as she made her way back towards her bedroom. She would miss being human, but she considering this had been the third time it had happened in almost two years, she was pretty sure it would probably happen again. As she stepped into her room, it hit her that if she was a vampire again that meant that Connor was human. Connor had been so worried about hurting her if she came by while he was a vampire and she'd been so worried about him, that she had to see him now. She had to check in on him and make sure he was alright with whatever had happened while he'd been a vampire. Lexi got dressed and went through her usual routine quickly then headed down the hall to Connor's apartment. Reaching it, she knocked on the door, hoping that he wouldn't mind her dropping in this early.

"Did I wake you up?" Lexi asked, a slight look of guilt crossed her features as she took in Connor's appearance, which included the lack of a shirt, not that she minded of course. "I wanted to come by and check on you. See if you were human again." If the sound of his heart beat, that she was picking up on, was any indication, then he was most certainly human again, "I can come back later, if you want." While she knew that she would need to get back and feed Tom in a little while, Lexi hoped that Connor wouldn't mind her coming by and invite her in. It had been over two weeks since she'd seen him and if she left now, she feared that it'd be another two weeks before she saw him again. Before coming to Colligo, Lexi had never worried too much about the next time she'd see a friend, because for vampires time passed differently, but in Colligo when someone could be sent back at any moment, Lexi tried to see her friends as often as possible just in case; especially since Huck had been sent back.

Connor hadn’t seen Lexi in two weeks. He was too afraid of hurting her and, well, her seeing what a vampire had done to him. It was just easier to avoid her all together. Although now it was time to see each other again and face what had happened during Asaph’s fun.

He didn’t answer.

Simply stood there for a couple of seconds. He opened his mouth to say something but he couldn’t think of anything to say. He didn’t know what to say after that. Instead he simply reacted to seeing a friend that he missed. He wrapped his arms around her. Giving her a firm, caring hug that said more than any hello could have. He deeply sighed as he kept his arms around her.

“I missed you,” he finally said.

Lexi wasn't quite expecting that reaction, but she was not about to refuse a hug from a good looking, shirtless guy. "I missed you too, Connor. I hated not being able to help you. It's kind of my thing. Ask Stefan." She smirked as she hugged him back, feeling his heartbeat against her chest, which continued to assure her that he was in fact human again. She hated when her friends went through things that she had no power over. She had always cared more about others, dating back to when her parents had dyed and she'd taken care of her younger brother. And then add in bits of Elijah's caring attitude and it'd make sense why she cared so much about other people and had such a regard for human life.

"You must be starving. I can make you something if you want." If she couldn't help Connor before, she wanted to help him now, even if he was perfectly capable of doing it himself. While she waited for an answer to her offer, she continued to stand there in the doorway of his apartment, arms still wrapped around him. Connor was the one who initiated the hug and clearly he needed to contact, so who was she to end it before he was ready?

Connor hadn’t planned to hug Lexi when he saw her. He figured there would just be twin looks of concern and caring as it had been two weeks since they saw each other. He just ended up reacting to how he felt inside. It felt right to wrap his arms around her and be okay with being around her again.

“I know,” he said into her shoulder.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want Lexi’s help while he was a vampire. He was just afraid that he would hurt and/or kill her while she was trying to help him. He couldn’t take that chance even if she was willing to risk it. He would never forgive himself. It didn’t matter about Asaph bringing people back after a spell of being dead.

She was going to what? “You don’t have to do that?” he said as he continued the comforting hug. It was nice to be able to be around people again. After another minute with his wraps around her he finally let go of her and took a step back to let her come into the apartment. “I still have to feed the guys anyway.” He would just make his breakfast while getting theirs.

When Connor finally released Lexi, her brows furrowed as he mentioned having to feed someone else, "The guys? Do you have dogs or something?" He had never mentioned having pets and if it was dogs, she was pretty sure they would have come to the door by now, but then again, Connor could have them in his bedroom or the other bedroom so they couldn't come to the door. Still, she wondered why he had never mentioned it before, because as far as she knew he didn't have a roommate, let alone more than one so he wasn't likely to be referring to other people.

Connor hadn’t realized that he never mentioned the three dinosaurs that he shared the apartment with. It must have slipped his mind although he was sure he mentioned them.

It didn’t matter much now.

She was at the apartment so she could just meet them rather than him explain who the guys were. Although he was a little surprised that Sid and Nancy hadn’t beaten him to the door. It was probably because they were waiting for him in the kitchen. He was a little late with breakfast for the three of them.

“Rex, Sid, and Nancy,” he said as he started to the kitchen. “They’re from my world. Asaph was nice enough to bring them with me.” It wasn’t like having the rest of the team but having familiar faces around was always nice.

Lexi followed Connor into the apartment, jaw dropping just a little when she saw the dinosaurs in the kitchen, "Oh my god. You have dinosaurs?! That's so awesome!" And she had thought that she had an awesome pet. Dinosaurs totally trumped a Mogwai. "How did you get dinosaurs in the first place? Are they friendly?" It was probably a stupid question, because if they weren't then they probably would have eaten Connor a long time ago, but she was just a little awestruck at seeing the three dinosaurs. She knew that one of the inhabitants of the Xavier Mansion had, had a dinosaur too, but she'd never actually seen said dinosaur. "And what do you feed them? I'm pretty sure they don't make dino-chow or anything like that."

Connor looked back at Lexi in time to see her jaw drop at the sight of his three little friends. A smile grew on his face as he opened the refrigerator. Maybe he didn't tell her because he wanted to do it in person, unconsciously. It was worth it though.

"The little green one is Rex," he said gesturing towards the flying dinosaur. "These two are Sid and Nancy." He reached into the refrigerator and pulled out three large ziplock baggies. One for each of the dinosaurs. "They're herbivores. Lettuce, carrots, other vegetables," he said as he simply opened them and tossed the contents into separate bowls, two that were on the ground and one on the kitchen counter.

Were they friendly? "They're from my world and more than friendly," he said thinking it was the strangest questions. Only he knew the dinosaurs and she didn't.
