WHO: Claude Crane and Justin Taylor.
WHAT: Justin comes to see Claude at work.
WHERE: Class Act.
STATUS | RATING: Incomplete | R, to be safe.

It had been five hours since Claude started his shift. He wasn't the type to think that only meant a couple more to go. It was those early morning hours that he liked the most. All the rowdier drunks were passed out or sleeping it off at home. They didn't bother him that much. Usually they were more interested in the female dancers.

He was standing near the bar when he heard a whistle. He turned and looked around to see the manager trying to get his attention. The manager waved his arm and pointed for Claude to get ready in the back. It was time for him to take to the stage again. He wasn't a spotlight. That was something that was earned and he'd only been there for a couple of weeks. He was up there with three woman and another man. He was sure that the manager had them together because they were the most open of the dancers. Not having a problem with touching on each other as they were entertaining.

Claude walked to the back. The four other dancers were already touching up their make up and making sure they all looked presentable. He only had three more minutes before they had to step out there. He could hear the music out there dying down. He looked in the mirror and thought that he looked absolutely perfect. Just in case he added a bit more of the shimmer to his chest.

After the previous dancer stepped back stage it time was. Claude stood by the entrance of the stage and waited for the music to start. He didn't hesitate when it did.

The way they moved was hypnotizing and the music seemed to play on that. Claude moved to the edge of the stage. Getting some appreciation from the woman on that side of the stage. They were all playing the crowd as well as giving attention to each other.

Five minutes on stage and he looked to two of the other dancers. Sharing a look they were all on the same page. They moved to the center to the stage. First there was a kiss shared between Claude and the woman, then one with the male dancer.

It wasn't planned but it was fun. The four other dancers left from the back of the stage while Claude stepped off from the side. Going to the bar for a drink of water.

"I thought I'd surprise you. Hope you don't mind," Justin said, still smiling as he took a sip of his drink, "I thought I was a good dancer, but you're ten times better than I am. I mean, I just shake my ass a lot." Justin knew that his ass was one of his best features, after all, he'd been told plenty of times, so he used it to his advantage as often as he could. Setting his drink down on the bar top, Justin leaned back slightly, blue eyes taking in the copious amount of body glitter that Claude was wearing, "That stuff is a pain to wash off. Sometimes they'd practically douse the crowd at Babylon with glitter or that shiny confetti and the glitter sometimes took days to get off completely." Then there was the fact that he had also worn it on occasion when he'd worked as a Go-Go Dancer at Babylon.

"I don't mind at all," Claude smiled

Claude didn't mind at all. He probably would have planned to be on stage when he came in. It was only luck that it worked out this way. "Of course not. You're welcome by anytime," he said as took the water off the bar top.

"Oh boy, don't I know it," he laughed. "After my first night someone asked if I were a vampire." He didn't get it then but he found out about the sparkling vampires.

"Then I'll have to make a point to come by again. And I'll let you know next time, for sure." While Justin had watched Claude dance, couldn't help but think that his roommate would have made an exceptional Go-Go Dancer at Babylon, but he certainly wouldn't have wanted him to be at Gary's mercy after the things the former owner of Babylon had done to him during his own short stint there. Even now, Justin still regretted not taking Brian up on his offer to front him the money for school sooner. Then again, it had helped him learn quite a few things. so at least it had an impact on him.

Justin laughed as he reached back for his drink, "They must have been drunk, unless you were leaving after the sun came up since I'm pretty sure only sun causes those vampires to sparkle." He took a sip of his drink, "That and, they must never have seen any of the other vampires in town. I'm pretty sure that none of the ones here now sparkle." He knew for a fact that Ashley wasn't one of the sparkling variety, nor was she like any other kind of vampire he'd ever seen in movies or on tv.

Claude took another step towards Justin, "How much of the show did you see?"

"Is that how it works?" he asked still wondering what kind of vampire would sparkle. If they did that back home he was sure other vampires would line up to stake them. It wasn't exactly how vampires were supposed to look. It wasn't the only strange thing about this place. "We were at a bar but I was there before they were."

Claude leaned against the bar. "It was probably that they never met one in person," or, according to Justin, they wouldn't have made such a mistake.

"I have to admit I was a bit disgusted. To be asked if I was one of those blood suckers," he said sounding a bit annoyed. He had some issues with vampires. He wasn't about to hide it. At least he was getting better with it. He was working at night when back home he would usually seek safety at that time.

"All of it," Justin wouldn't have minded if Claude got even closer and were he anyone other than his roommate, he would have done it himself, but he didn't want to be too forward just yet, because if things got awkward, that would make living together quite difficult, so for the moment, he was going to let Claude decide on their proximity. "I got here just before you came out." Yes, he did choose those particular words on purpose.

He nodded in response to Claude's question, "They're from a book series and they can go out in the sun, but when they do they sparkle. I haven't read the books, but it seems like just about everyone knows this stuff even if they haven't read them." Based on Claude's reaction to being asked if he was a vampire though, Justin was guessing that he wasn't exactly partial to them, "You're not a big fan of vampires, are you? Don't know whether or not I should tell you that I'm friends with one."

Justin had better timing than Claude originally thought. He thought his roommate was only lucky enough to catch the end of the show. Maybe coming in during the middle of it but surely not at the beginning of the dance. "I've been dancing for a while. I'm not shy," he said talking about the kisses shared with his fellow dancers. "They didn't seem to mind either."

It wasn't a book that Claude was interested in reading. In this mind vampires shouldn't sparkle in the sun. He wasn't even sure how that would work. Vampires stalked their prey and sparkling might give it away. He could see the humor in it though. "Was it written as a comedy?" he couldn't help but ask.

"No, I'm not," he said Justin's question. Don't know whether or not to ask? "You just did. Do they come over to our house?" Claude wasn't sure that was safe considering how fond he was of his blood. It something one of the few things he wasn't up to sharing.

"Obviously not. I don't see why anyone would mind being kissed by you," Justin said in reference to Claude's comment about not being shy. He smirked at his roommate before glancing over at the bartender and ordering another drink as he finished the one he had been drinking, "Want anything?" Justin was sure that Claude could probably get free drinks, but he figured it was only right to offer to buy him one.

Justin laughed at Claude's question about Twilight and shrugged, "Some people seem to think so, but apparently it's really popular with teenagers. I'm from before it was written, so all I really know about it is what I've heard and what I've seen when those vampires have been here." Justin could understand Claude's weariness at the fact that one of his friends was a vampire, "I work with her at Eden. I don't think she's been over to our place. When we hang out, it's mostly at work or her place. She lives in The Sanctuary and she's one of the good ones."

Justin didn't seem to have a problem with how open Claude was. It wasn't a secret that Justin was gay. The blond man had mentioned a Brian during one of their many conversations. Claude wasn't sure why he hadn't mentioned his own sexual orientation before. It just hadn't come up.

"I'll just have a water, thank you," he smiled as he looked over to the bartender. He had just been dancing but he appreciated Justin's offer.

He could see the appeal in a book series about sparkling vampires. Maybe teenagers would like it but their taste was questionable. "There aren't any good ones," he said without a second thought. "Sorry, it's just what I think." He hoped Justin didn't take any offence in that.

Justin paid for his drink when the bartender slid it across the bar top and took a sip then shrugged, "Everyone has their own opinions, but I'm sure that once you'd been here for awhile you'll see that they're not all bad. I'm guessing that you've had bad experiences with them in the past?" Before he'd arrived in Colligo over a year ago, Vampires were just fictional creatures in books and movies and tv and now not only was Justin friends with one, but there were also werewolves and superheroes and other people who he had thought were fictional, all living in the city.

"What's your stance on werewolves? Cause there are also some of those in the city. Witches too. It's really fucking crazy, but also kind of cool at the same time." Justin took another sip of his drink as he continued watching Claude.
