It was a good thing Lexi had been through this particular bit of Asaph fun before, because otherwise, she'd probably be just as weirded out as the rest of the newer non-locals. Sure, it was unnerving knowing that your friends were still there, but you just couldn't see them and there was the chance that you could be standing right next to them and never know, but the fact was that just because she couldn't see them, they were still there, so that made the whole thing a little easier to deal with. She remembered how this had happened the summer before and how she'd practically tackle hugged Caroline when she'd seen the other vampire again once it was all over and just how happy she'd been to be able to see everyone again. This year, she was lucky that she'd made friends outside of her reality circle, so it wouldn't be that bad, spending a week or two or however long this lasted not being able to see or talk to Stefan or Elena or anyone else from Mystic Falls. Speaking of Stefan and Elena, she still didn't know how their talk had gone and made a mental note to ask Stefan when this was over.

In a way, she was glad that this whole not being able to see anyone from your own reality thing had happened today, because it gave her more of a chance to get to know Connor, who she had spoken to while she hadn't been herself and who wanted to meet Tom. He seemed like a pretty cool guy and of course anyone who was a fan of Gremlins couldn't be bad. So, she'd spent the afternoon making sure the apartment was clean, not that it ever got very messy since it was just her and Tom and the Mogwai didn't exactly do much to warrant a mess. He was probably the world's best pet. "Ready to make a new friend?" She asked him as she sat down on the couch, glancing over to where the little furball was sitting in the armchair, looking at the pictures in one of the magazines that Lexi left on the coffee table.

Oh wow.

His knuckle had barely touched the door the third time when Lexi swung it opened. He expected to wait at least a couple of seconds. Not that he didn't have a problem with going straight in. "Yes, hello," he said as he stepped inside of the apartment. "It's nice to meet you." He knew that when they first spoke that she wasn't exactly herself.

He only glanced at the Mogwai before turning back to Lexi. Preferring to hold in his excitement to talk to Lexi a bit. After all she invited him over and he barely knew her. "How long have you been in Colligo?" he asked.

It wasn't hard to figure out that small talk was no what Connor really wanted to be doing at the moment, but Lexi would humor him, "For about a year and a half now. It's crazy to think that, that much time has gone by, but then again, for a vampire, a year and a half isn't exactly that long." Lexi didn't even think twice anymore about telling someone she was a vampire, considering they didn't have to keep their existence a secret here and she was usually a good judge of character and didn't think that Connor was going to try and stake her. After all, that would have just been rude after she invited him over to see Tom.

"So, you wanna keep with the small talk, that I know you don't really want to be doing or do you want to see a Mogwai up close and personal?" She smirked, raising her brows slightly, looking thoroughly amused as Tom finally lifted his head from the magazine and gazed over at Lexi and Connor. Besides Lexi, Stefan and Huck, there really weren't many people that the Mogwai had known since The Doctor had given him to Lexi and with Huck gone, now it was mainly just Lexi and Stefan that he ever saw, so seeing someone new, he simply stared at him. "Don't look now, but he's watching you." She said, voice low, smirk still upon her lips as she teased Connor.

This place wasn't as surprising as it was when Connor first arrived. If he met her around his first week then he probably would have freaked. Even with dinosaurs having this supernatural species was still surprising. He had gotten his head around it pretty quickly though. He just didn't know that she was a vampire. "You're a vampire?" he repeated as this was his first face to face with her kind.

It totally eclipsed the fact that she'd been there for a year and a half.

Well she saw right though him. He should have guessed that he wasn't hiding his interest that well. "I didn't want you to feel like I was using you," he said as he shrugged. At least he tried with the small talk. It was probably more than any other geek would do.

He turned to look at the little Mogwai holding the magazine. It was the cutest thing that he'd ever seen. "Can I?" he asked if he could get closer.

"Yup, but don't worry," Lexi smirked and tossed her long blond hair over her shoulder, "I won't nom on you unless you ask." So, maybe it was possible that she was flirting a tiny bit, but it had been five months now since Huck had been sent home and she knew that he wouldn't want her to mope around and pine after him forever. This wasn't the first time she'd lost a lover, after all, she was in Colligo while Lee was back home and to him she was dead. She knew that she'd never forget Huck, he had made her, her sunlight ring after all, she knew that she had to move on. She smirked at him and gestured for him to follow her, "Of course. He won't bite either and don't worry about using me, I invited you over cause I knew you wanted to see him."
