What: Stiles and Derek need to clear up a few things.

So, Derek wanted to meet in the woods, or...okay...the park, in the middle of the night to talk about feelings and pack. Or something. Not weird at all. No, really. It wasn't weird at all. The day Derek Hale did something the normal way was the day the Earth actually imploded. Stiles had half expected him to find, like, an actual Batcave or something, just for the purpose of having a suitably dramatic spot for their talk. Seriously, people. His last two homes had been a burned out house where his entire family had died, and an abandoned train in an equally abandoned train depot. Subtlety wasn't exactly his alpha's strong suit. Stiles wasn't entirely convinced Derek wasn't going to move the whole pack to a clocktower and give them vigilante costumes and code names. Because that's what dark and broody guys fueled by angst and manpain did, right? Or maybe he'd been reading too many costumes lately. At this point though, he considered it research, since that was the way his life was inevitably heading.

He was waiting in the park when Derek got there, sitting in a tree because...why not. He heard the alpha long before he saw him and jumped down to meet him when he got there. It was weird, and maybe a little pathetic, how much better he felt with his alpha around. Well...not his alpha, but still. "Couldn't find an abandoned amusement park or disused warehouse?" he asked conversationally. It was weird, just the two of them here. He'd become rather used to Erica, Isaac and Boyd and their special brand of lovable stupidity. He'd even gotten used to Erica's attempts to get in his pants. "It's weird," he said. "Even though I know they're not here, I keep waiting for the rest of the Boxcar Children to show up." He paused, remembering his own version of Derek's reaction when he'd first called the pack by that nickname. "They're these books, about these kids who live in a boxcar...you can see why it's appropriate." He looked up at the sky. "So...we have stuff to talk about?"

Derek was going to say something about how he doesn't have a flair for the dramatic but decides it's really not worth the argument right now. Besides Alphas are supposed to show-off their power and skill to remind people why you don't want to mess with them.

"Don't really know," Derek says. He just knew of the books because of his sister, he wasn't really the reading type especially when he was younger. "Why would bad mouth someone who is basically me. And come on do you really think trying to punch me would end well for you." He was an alpha after all.

Derek patiently listens as Stiles talks and just in case listens to make sure he's telling the truth as well. Most of the stuff he was saying was very similar to what he had experienced. But there definitely were some differences. He definitely could have done without the insults at the end. "Very interesting," He says thinking it all through, "What happened after that?."

Stiles shrugged. On the one hand, yeah, he probably shouldn't go casually threatening Derek. But on the other, well, if this Derek was used to Scott, he could probably take him. Unlike some people, Stiles was very good at training. If nothing else, the element of surprise that came with someone not sucking at life would throw Derek off long enough for him to at least get the hit in if nothing else. "Good," he said. "I don't like people talking shit about my alpha. And you might think that, but you'd be surprised."

He frankly would have been insulted if Derek had told him he thought he might lie. Derek had asked him what happened, and he saw no reason not to tell him the truth. "After that," he said, "Allison's crazy grandfather showed up. Seriously, that dude was psycho. Full on cut people in half with a freaking broadsword psycho. You wanted to build up your pack, even though you wouldn't say why. You bit Isaac, Erica and Boyd in an astonishing display of terrible judgment. Because clearly fucked up teens desperate for acceptance were the best choices for new werewolves. Lydia woke up from her coma, we found out she was immune...even though you thought she was a lizard monster at first. But that was Jackson." He frowned as he thought about that.

"Um...Jackson was being controlled by this guy named Matt," he said, "who...was full on crazy. He sort of...um...tried to kill everyone because he had a hard on for Allison. He," he trailed off for a moment, "shot me...paralyzed you...almost gave Scott a fatal asthma attack...nearly killed my dad. My dad knows...by the way. Hard not to when you get shot in front of him and heal from it. Gerard took over as the Kanima's master. Guess he killed Matt. Lydia was going through some stuff...I should have realized...but I was trying really hard to keep her out of it. Uh...apparently she drugged us all at her birthday...some kind of wolfsbane that made us all hallucinate things."

He stopped again, because that was another thing he didn't really like remembering. "Anyway, we were all out of it and she did something to you...it brought Peter back. Meanwhile...Gerard was...well...like I said...psycho. He kind of stabbed me a little. Told me to help him or he'd kill my dad. I...well...you knew about it. Because I so wasn't going to lie about that shit for you. I played him for a while. He kept trying to get into Allison's head, but it never really worked. She...played him too. We set things up...he wanted the bite to cure his cancer." He stopped for a moment on that brilliant bit of crazy.

"So...we gave it to him," he said with a shrug. "But we spiked his pills with Mountain Ash...weirdly Scott came up with that brilliant plan. And he died. Then Lydia cured Jackson with the power of love or some bullshit and he became a werewolf. Which is when you finally clued us in on the whole 'alpha pack' thing. Because you are, as I've mentioned before, kind of a douchebag." He gave Derek a look. "Seriously. That is something you tell people about before they come calling."

Derek didn't think he might lie but embellishing was now out of the question. He kept quiet for now fuming a little bit but not saying anything and trying not to let it show with some of the judgements that Stiles of all people was making of him. A lot of this stuff was very similar but at the same time different. It would definitely get confusing to deal with long term if he had too.

"It also sounds a lot like what happen with me though definitely different," Derek says. He almost said something about how it was not the power of love and it did make a lot of sense but he figured the other him had already tried that.

"If I had the time to set up a substantial and trained pack than the whole alpha pack thing would never have come up," Derek says. This had been his family's territory for a long time. But since he had not been able to stabilize all of this thanks to the damn hunters and Kanima things were going to get bad.
