After everything that had happened over the past few weeks, and the sudden, unexpected onset of a holiday with more than its share of unhappy memories, Ianto was more than willing to call it quits. He knew, or at least assumed, that Jack would be upset at being left alone, but there were certain occasions that just drove him to be out of the house, away from people and things he knew. He had made his way to a quiet pub in a rarely frequented part of town, and sat quietly in a corner, thoughtful but not quite brooding, nursing a pint. He didn't really want to get roaringly drunk, but sobriety held few attractions at this point, either. He took another swig from his mug and glanced around the pub, where a vaguely familiar classic rock song was playing on the jukebox.
