Lily loved the snow and she was glad to get out in it. Of course it was difficult to take the buggy with her so she had left Luke with Sirius as much as that may seem stupid to others. She trusted him and knew how good he was with him. After all, both Sirius and Remus loved Luke as if they were their own child and she knew and understood that. The boys were a big part in her life and she wanted them to be involved in her son's too. And to do that she would have to trust Sirius to spend some alone time with him. Luke would need some male bonding in a way. Men to look up to and trust.

"Do you think I'll regret leaving him with Sirius?" Lily asked in a teasing way.

She was glad Remus had agreed to come a walk with her. She didn't need much though did want to pick up a few gifts for Luke for his birthday if she found any which he needed. She had already bought a few things anyway so it was just a couple of small things to put in with those bigger things.

Remus laughed and shook his head, "As unresponsible as Sirius is, I don't believe he'd let anything happen to Luke. He loves him and is afraid of you." He smirked over at Lily as they walked along the street, "He wouldn't risk your wrath. He knows that he can get out of it if I'm mad at him, but not you." Things had been much better for Remus since Sirius had come back, with the exception that now he was out of a job because his boss had been sent back, which had closed the bookstore. He had been looking for a new job, but he had found working for a non-local to be much easier than working for a local, who would ask questions when Asaph's various events happened and Remus would have to call out if he was altered physically.

"Where did you want to go first?" He asked as they passed the various shops on the street.

"That's very true." She trusted Sirius and she hoped Remus realised that despite her teasing. He probably did or at least should. "He has discovered just how I get when he angers me."

They all had. Well, Remus not so much since he was genuinely one of the sweetest men she had ever known so he often got away with it. She glanced around them as they walked and he questioned her since she wasn't quite sure just where to go yet.

"As boring as it sounds, Luke needs some new vests. So a clothing store first probably."

"It doesn't sound boring at all. I can't believe how big he's gotten in the few months that I've been here." After Sirius had been sent home, Remus had spent quite a bit of time with Lily and Luke and had watched him grow over the last couple of months. His only hope was that James would show up again so that Luke could grow up with his father around and for Lily so that she wouldn't feel awkward when she was with him and Sirius. Of course him and Sirius weren't exactly big on the PDA in public, but he still felt bad for her when they were out together.

"He's growing far too fast." And yet there was sadness in her voice. She knew, back home, she would not see him much older than what he is at the moment. She was due to die three months after his first birthday. She may want to leave, to be with James, but she wanted him to have her a little while longer. Luke deserved it since he, as he was Harry, would not have much time with her in the time she belonged in.

But she wished James could see it too.

Remus knew how much Lily missed James, because he had missed Sirius just as much and he reached over and took Lily's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze as they reached a store that sold children's clothes, "I know it's been an awfully long time, but Asaph works in mysterious ways. There is no reason to give up hope that he won't decide to bring James back. I had just about given up hope that Sirius would come back and then only a few days after we last talked about him, he appeared again." While Sirius was slightly altered from how he'd been when he was there before, Remus was sure that with a little time, the events that he'd gone through back home would eventually fade and they wouldn't affect him so greatly.

She glanced down at his hand and smiled sadly. She was grateful for his help but she sometimes felt that neither Remus nor Sirius signed up for this when she started to date James. They didn't need her like this with them. But she did appreciate their help and support and always would. "Well you know Sirius. His ears would have been burning knowing he was being discussed."

She walked into the shop with him, glancing around for the vests and the few other things he needed.

While Remus and Sirius may not have signed on for this when Lily had begun dating James, Remus and Lily had been friends before she'd begun dating James and he was determined to help her in any way he could in James' absence. He knew that Sirius felt the same way as well. "Sirius never could resist needing to know what one is saying about him." He smirked and followed Lily into the shop, glancing around at the items in the shop. Remus didn't know all that much about children's clothes, so he left the task of picking out clothes for Luke to Lily.

Lily simply smiled at Remus then focused on picking up the items that Luke needed. She didn't want to bore him even if he had offered to come with her. Part of her worried that it was the last thing he wanted really and was just there to make her feel involved. It wasn't completely unlikely but she tried not to think of it. She had to focus on the positive thoughts.

"Thank you for coming," she told him as they left. But a little bit further down the street she found herself with an overwhelming urge and before she knew what she was doing her lips were on his. She wasn't thinking anything else other than the need to kiss him.

"It's no trouble at all, Lily." Remus returned the smile, but it faltered slightly as he gazed down at Lily, the sudden urge to be closer to her coming over him. However, he didn't get the chance to make the first move as Lily kissed him first. Unlike the first time he'd kissed Sirius, there was no hesitance as Remus kissed her back, one hand coming up to cup her jaw and tilt her head back a little more to get a good angle. It was a strange feeling, wanting to kiss Lily, but while it felt strange, it also felt extremely right.

As he kissed her back her arms tightened around his neck and she pressed up against him. She didn't quite want to pull away just yet and her hand found his hair as she continued to kiss him. But of course she had to pull away soon just to take in a little air but the moment she did she automatically wondered what had happened. Where had that come from?

"Urm..." Was all she could say, stepping further back from him.

It was at the moment that they parted for air that the mistletoe practically vanished, in search of more victims for embarrass and as Remus began to regain his bearings, he gazed down at Lily, amber eyes widening slightly as he watched her take a step away, "Merlin's Beard...what..." It was then that Remus recalled what was going on in the city and suddenly it all made sense, but that didn't mean that the flush on his cheeks went away, because it didn't. "It was mistletoe." With that, he tipped his head back, trying to see if he could spot the offending plant, but was nowhere to be seen.

Briefly she wanted to tell him not to be so silly until she remembered what that mistletoe could do here. Force kisses really. She was just glad that she had to kiss someone she knew rather than enduring the awkwardness of a stranger. Not that this would not be awkward, far from it, just a little less. "Right. Mistletoe."

That explained it far better though it did have to come not long after she admitted to having a crush on him in school. "Sorry about that."

Remus knew that he would have to tell Sirius about this later and chances were he'd tease them to no end, but he wasn't about to keep this from him no matter what the cause of it had been, "It's quite alright, Lily. Are you alright?" Considering he'd only recently confessed, or been forced to confess, that she'd had feelings for him back in school, he could only imagine what she must be feeling at the moment.

	"Fine." He was the first person she had kissed since James left. The first person she had kissed since dating James. Yes there was that brief moment, granted by their lord and master, when she had come from a world where she had been with Severus and she did remember that. But it wasn't her so she dismissed it. "Are you sure?" Remus knew how this had the potential to be awkward and as embarrassed as he was, he knew that they hadn't had a choice in the matter. It had been all because of the mistletoe, otherwise it wouldn't have happened. "I can only imagine how you must be feeling." In fact, Remus had a fairly good idea of how Lily must be feeling considering he knew what it was like to miss someone as much as she missed James. Of course he hadn't kissed someone else while Sirius had been gone.

"Of course I'm sure." At least it was him. She had to focus on that. Even if she was incredibly embarrassed about it she knew it wasn't their fault and that Remus wouldn't think anything on it. But it still worried her. However, Lily refused to be so easily put down by something so small. She had been doing fine on her own so far and she wanted to continue doing so. "I feel fine. Come on, let's get going."
