Who: James Sirius Potter and Hatter
Where: Their apartment
What: Meeting the new roomie
When: Backdated to Tuesday, July 17th. Evening
Status: In Progress

After getting home from work, Jamie had called out for chinese takeaway then plopped himself down on the couch to watch some TV while he waited. Pulling out his wand, he pointed it at the TV and it flickered to life. He'd been trying to use less and less magic at work in order to prevent accidents; at least of the magical kind, so he couldn't resist using magic for even the most mundane tasks at home. He gave his wand a small flick and the channel changed a couple of times before stopping on an infomercial, which he watched for a few minutes before flicking his wand once again. Living alone after Albus had been sent home had gotten very boring, very quickly, but there wasn't really anything he could do about that, because as much as he loved her, he thought it would be weird if he lived with his grandmother and Luke, Sirius and Remus lived together and Hugo had been living in the dorms and then he had been sent home, so Jamie had no choice really, but to live along until Asaph decided to give him a roommate.

Changing the channel again, Jamie settled down further on the couch and put his feet up on the coffee table as he continued waiting for his dinner to arrive.

The flat was really, really weird. Hatter found himself staring. It was all so... square and normal and linear.

"So... all the doors lead to... other places in the flat?" He checked. You didn't have that back in Wonderland, that was for sure. You could always end up hanging off the side of the building or inside some magic forest with a cat grinning down on you. Nowhere ever went where it was supposed to go. That was insane. Was this the kind of place he'd been planning to be stuck in?

Jamie's brows rose slightly at the question, but he nodded anyway, "Yeah, that's how it usually works." At that, Jamie reached for the doorknob of the spare bedroom and made a show of opening the door, "Yup, just where I'd left it." He filled Hatter in on the rest of the apartment just as there was a knock on the front door, "And that'd be my dinner." With that, he went to answer the door.

"Is it?" Hatter asked blankly, before peering around the other man into what was, most definitely, an empty and boring bedroom. Hatter didn't even have a bedroom back in Wonderland. He'd slept in his chair in the teashop, occasionally with a sleeping mask on if the lights didn't fancy turning off at that exact moment. This place had a bed. And light switches.

And food that came to the door.

Hatter plodded after Jamie, peering curiously over his shoulder as the door was opened, only to look a little disappointed that there was just another person there. He wasn't quite sure what he'd been expecting. Unless Jamie ate bored looking teenagers carrying bags.

"He's your dinner?"

Jamie couldn't help but chuckle at the kid's face when Hatter asked him if he was his dinner. It was pretty bloody amusing. Thanking the kid, Jamie took the bag of chinese food and closed the door, "No, this it." He held up the bag before heading into the kitchen, figuring that if Hatter were curious enough, he'd follow him. "I ordered more than enough, if you want some." Jamie didn't know the last time his new roommate had eaten and contrary to popular belief, he had been raised with manners and wasn't about to just eat in front of Hatter without offering him some first.

Huh. Dinner in a bag. Everything was weird here. Hatter didn't mind weird usually, but this was such a normal kind of weird that it was a little hard to get his head around. Instead he shrugged and smiled vaguely, his attention kind of fixed on what was happening out of the window. Which wasn't all that much.

"Um... Yeah. Thanks," he agreed. He was a little hungry - he couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten, actually. It must have been yesterday. Just before he'd decided to come afetr Alice. The thought of the dark haired girl made his stomach twist almost painfully. Where was she?
