Who: Jenna Sommers, Elena Gilbert and Jeremy Gilbert
What: Jenna is still adjusting and needs to see her niece and nephew
When: Monday, March 12th. Evening
Where: Jenna's apartment
Rating: G probably
Status: in progress

It had been a week now since Jenna had found herself in the library in Colligo only moments after being killed by Klaus in the woods during the ritual and despite the fact that Ric and Elena and practically everyone else was there, she was still having a hard time adjusting to being alive again; keyword being alive. It had been explained to her that this wasn't permanent and she wasn't entirely sure how to prepare herself for becoming a vampire again, especially when she hadn't even had time to adjust to being a vampire before she'd been killed. It was distressing to know that on any given day she could wake up and find herself craving blood again with the lack of a beating heart. The only thing that did comfort her was the thought that Ric would stick by her and that there were others there to help her deal with being a vampire and she was grateful for that.

Speaking of people she was grateful to have around; she had invited Elena and Jeremy, because in the week she had been in Colligo, she had yet to see her niece and nephew and now that she knew that Jeremy was about to be a father, she had a lot of yelling to do. She wasn't so much disappointed in Jeremy, but worried that they weren't ready. Of course she would do what she could to help, but she wasn't sure how she would be when the baby came, but hoped that she'd be able to control herself by then.

Hearing the knock at the door, Jenna went to answer it, a smile spreading across her face when she saw Elena standing there; however it faltered almost as quickly as it had appeared as Jenna's eyes welled up at the sight of her niece and she couldn't help but feel guilty over leaving her and Jeremy, "Elena..." She knew that Ric had stepped up and took care of Elena and Jeremy back home, but that didn't stop her from feeling this way. If she'd listened to Elena and had just run then there might have been a chance that she could have escaped Klaus; not a very good chance, but at least she could say that she'd tried. Instead she'd practically signed her own death certificate by attacking Klaus' witch instead. "Elena, I'm so sorry."

Elena already knew that Jenna probably had a lot on her plate, even if she hadn't been here that long. It was hard to find out that you were on another planet and that things you never dreamed of were possible here. It was so good to see Jenna again. She took for granted the Jenna that had been here before. Elena had thought she would always be around. And then she was just...gone. It hurt her heart so much, and she was a little reluctant to get close to a "new" Jenna.

But when her aunt looked at her like that, Elena had to fight back her own tears. This was a Jenna who had been through becoming a vampire and dying. Jenna had taught Elena so much, and sometimes she distracted herself so much that she forgot what it was like to miss her. "No, no Jen..." She shook her head, trying to keep herself calm. "I'm the one who is sorry." After all, if Elena wasn't the doppelganger, Jenna wouldn't have been in any danger. Jeremy wouldn't have been in any danger. They could have all just lived normal lives...

Jenna shook her head and gestured for Elena to come in, "Get in here before I start blubbering all over the hall." She needed her niece to put down the package in her hands so that she could hug her and never let go; she would do the same thing to Jeremy when he showed up, after she smacked him up side the head of course. Technically it had only been a week since she'd last seen Elena and Jeremy, but it felt so much longer.

That made Elena snap out of it a bit, and she grinned at Jenna, walking into the apartment. She was sure she would close the door behind her. She set the cake down and turned to her aunt. This was very emotional for both of them, and she really did blame herself for what happened to Jenna. So many lives had been lost because she was the doppelganger, and the guilt she carried from that was unmeasurable.
