WHO: Jeremy Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett
WHAT: Leaving the clinic after Bonnie's check up and some overdue conversation.
WHEN: Monday, January 30th. Late Afternoon
WHERE: Starting at the clinic then around Colligo
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Jeremy still couldn't quite believe what he'd just heard; well he could believe it, but it all just made this whole impending fatherhood thing so much more real. Him and Bonnie had just heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time and Jeremy was not ashamed to admit that he had teared up a little bit. Then again, Jeremy had done his fair share of crying over the last year and a half, so admitting that he'd teared up at hearing his baby's heartbeat probably wouldn't be news to anyone who knew him. After getting a clean bill of health for both Bonnie and the baby, they were free to leave and were currently leaving the Clinic. Jeremy made a mental note that they should probably get a car soon, along with all the other things on his mental note list that they would need before the baby arrived. Luckily they had awhile to go, unlike Caroline who had only another month or so to go. It was weird to think that both girls had gotten pregnant at more or less the same time, but that Caroline and Damon's baby would arrive long before his and Bonnie's. He certainly hadn't expected Caroline's pregnancy to go all Twilight on her.

Speaking of Damon and Caroline, over the last few days, Jeremy had slowly begun to realize that he'd misinterpreted what Damon had been asking him when he'd asked if he'd wanted to own a house and now he was thinking that it might be a good idea for him, Bonnie and Elena to head back to the apartments so that Damon and Caroline could work things out alone. After all, it wasn't as if the three of them were really any safer at Damon and Caroline's as opposed to his or Bonnie's apartment, because they knew who not to invite in and they all wore Vervain on them so they couldn't be compelled and not to mention, Bonnie was a witch. So technically they were safe no matter which place they were living.

"So, that was pretty awesome, huh?" He asked, squeezing Bonnie's hand as they walked out of the Clinic.

Jeremy still had moments when he was alone where he'd freak out a little bit when he thought about the fact that they were going to be parents, especially now that Ric was gone, but he had to keep in mind the fact that they did have a lot of other people around who would help them. Not only was there Elena, but also Claire and Dean, who already had three kids of their own and would, hopefully, be able to answer any questions they had if there was crisis. Then Damon and Caroline, who would have their own baby by the time Bonnie had the baby, so in a way they'd be able to go through things together, unless their baby pulled a Renesmee and aged five years by the time their baby was born or turned out to be a vampire or something; Jeremy hoped, for Caroline's sake, that their baby was as normal as possible, because somehow he knew how much Caroline wanted this. It was weird having bits and pieces of memories of a life that wasn't technically his, but at the same time weird was normal these days.

And besides all of those people there were all their other friends who would be able to help them, so Jeremy really had nothing to freak out about. Except for the part where every now and then he'd wonder if his parents would be disappointed in him, "I know. I mean, having a baby at seventeen was definitely not what I expected, but we're definitely a lot better off here then we ever could have been in Mystic Falls." There was no question that Jeremy had more money here then he ever did in Mystic Falls. "Are you hungry? We could stop to get something to eat."

"Yeah, " Bonnie said. "And even though we aren't in Mystic Falls, we still have quite the support system here. And even though this place is crazy, with everything going on back in Mystic Falls, I'd rather have our baby here than back home. Especially with Klaus and Elijah running around there. I mean, yeah, Stefan's here, but he doesn't seem to really care for the most part."

She smiled at him. "And yeah. We can stop for lunch. Can we have Indian food?"

Bonnie had filled him in on most of the stuff that she'd been updated on that was going on back home and he agreed wholeheartedly that Colligo, even with all it's weird stuff that happened, was a safer place for them to raise their baby then back home. There was still one thing that Bonnie hadn't filled him in on and that was what had led to them breaking up back home, but he hadn't really gotten a chance to ask her about it, what with Stefan showing up and him completely misinterpreting what Damon had been asking him, but now they had a little downtime and perhaps lunch would be a good time for him ask her about that despite the fact that he was sort of dreading knowing what happened, but he had a morbid curiosity.

"Sure. I think there's a place nearby." Jeremy didn't really like Indian food, but if it was what Bonnie wanted then he would go for it.

Bonnie grinned at him. "Thanks. I know you don't really care for Indian food, but I appreciate you putting up with me and my crazy cravings, Jere." She kissed his cheek. One of the good things about being in Colligo was that she was glad that things that happened at home didn't affect them here. They hadn't had any problems to cause them to break up, and she never planned on breaking up with him.

"I love you."

If it was possible, Jeremy's smile widened as she said those three words and he squeezed her hand again, then stopped and pulled her towards him, his arms going around her waist, "I love you too, Bonnie." Leaning in, he gave her a quick kiss on the lips, not wanting to subject passers-by to too much public displays of affection. "Come on, the restaurant is just down here." He took Bonnie's hand again and started leading her down the street, towards the Indian restaurant. Considering his track record with girlfriends before Bonnie, Jeremy hadn't actually thought he'd wind up in a long term relationship where he was actually happy and didn't want to become a vampire in order to be with the girl that he loved, because Bonnie was that girl and he was happier then he'd been since before his parents had died. He had thought that he was in love with Vicki and Anna, but he knew now what love really felt like and it was Bonnie who had shown him that.
