On the hunt for answers.
WHO: Lisbeth Salander and OPEN
WHAT: Lisbeth explores and stops for a coffee
WHEN: Sunday late afternoon
WHERE: Joch yn y Tywyllwch
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Lisbeth did not appreciate being abducted from her home and mysteriously showing up here, wherever here was. She had woken up in a strange bed with a strange man, a man she had never seen before and he seemed to have little to no explanation as to how they had arrived here. Determining that the man was not a threat, Lisbeth felt herself bound to his side until she woke up this morning in her room. After investigating her room and her PDA, she had left her room, to explore her surroundings and see if she could figure out who had brought her here and why.

After wandering around for a few hours, successfully avoiding people and ignoring those who she did approach, she was no closer to finding answers to her questions than she was when she started her investigation. Hearing her stomach growl, she stepped into the coffee shop, ordering herself a coffee and a pastry before choosing a seat in the corner of the shop. As she sat with her coffee, she pulled out her PDA and commenced examining it once again, hoping that she could hack the system and perhaps find the answers to her questions.

As much as he hadn't wanted to leave Jack so soon after being back with him, he did have a job to do. Sundays usually weren't that busy, though, at least in the afternoon. He served the few customers, whiling away the hours until closing.

He noticed his latest customer sitting the corner, looking intently at one of the Colligo-issue PDAs. He didn't remember seeing her around before, and walked towards her table. "Did you just arrive here?"

Lisbeth looked up from her PDA at the man who had spoken to her. Normally, she didn't engage in conversation if she didn't have to. Especially with men. She had troubles trusting anyone and there was only one man that she felt she could let her guard down around and he wasn't here.

Still, she had to try to be civil. She took a sip of her coffee before nodding.

"I am. Just arrived here a few days ago. How long have you been here?" She asked, her voice thick with her Swedish accent.

He could pick up on how tense she was as he spoke to her. Whether she was naturally shy or had another reason for guarding her tongue, he decided to keep the conversation generic for now.

"Since October. A few months," he clarified, since he didn't know what month it had been when she came from. "Are you settling in all right?"

Lisbeth shrugged at the man's question. She was still trying to figure out what the man's motives were for talking to her. It was just Lisbeth's distrustful nature in general that made her assume he had ulterior motives.

"As well as I can, I suppose. I still do not know or understand why I have been brought here. I have decided to come for a cup of coffee and I'm trying to discover more about this device and the network it is on."

Lisbeth glanced up at the man. "I'm Lisbeth. Lisbeth Salander."

It wasn't really like him to go striking up conversations with random strangers, but Colligo tended to give people a kind of "we're all in the same boat" mentality. Well, most people, at any rate.

"A lot of people have been brought here for no reason. Or no reason we can tell. You certainly came to the right place for a cup of coffee," he said, trying and failing to keep the hint of pride of his voice. "If you need help with that, I can show you how it works." He didn't move any closer, though, not wanting her to think he was trying to read over her shoulder or anything.

"Ianto. Ianto Jones. Pleased to meet you, Lisbeth." He politely offered his hand.

Lisbeth regarding Ianto's hand for a moment. She usually didn't engage in any sort of physical contact. In fact, most of her hello's were accomplished by ignoring the other person. However, there was something about this place that made Lisbeth feel a different. Perhaps she figured she needed to attempt to be social in order to gain answers. Cautiously, she extended her hand and shook Ianto's hand quickly before withdrawing her hand. That was enough physical contact.

"I have already figured out how it works." She said. Really, it wasn't a complicated device. "I'm trying to attempt to learn more about the network it is on. See if I can learn more about the person that is holding me captive."

Lisbeth pulled her feet up on the chair, wrapping her arms around her bent knees as she sipped from her cup of coffee. "Do you own this place?"

Well, wasn't this awkward fun, two people clearly not keen on socialising trying to have a conversation. He let her dictate the length of a barely-there handshake, keeping just close enough afterwards to keep the conversation a conversation and not a shouting match.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply you hadn't. I don't know how much examining the network will tell you about Asaph, though."

He shook his head. "It was here for me when I arrived. Apparently another version of me opened it while he was here previously."

Lisbeth looked up with a raised eyebrown. "Asaph? Who is Asaph? So far I have been able compromise the networks security. It really wasn't that hard. Haven't learned a thing about why I am here and how I got here."

Lisbeth put the device down, taking another sip of her coffee. "Another version of you?" Lisbeth frowned. She didn't like this place. "Are there more than one version of everyone here?"
