WHO: Vilandra/Isabel and Dream (Other Dream Team members welcome)
WHAT: A showdown
WHEN: Saturday - early evening
WHERE: The streets of Colligo
STATUS: In Progress

Vilandra wasn't known for her patience. She was used to getting what she wanted when she wanted it. It wasn't that she didn't have the ability to plan things out, to scheme and manipulate those around her; quite the opposite. It was a skill she had mastered. She just preferred not to wait.

And she had waited for what seemed like an eternity. She had helped Kivar start the revolution on Antar. She had been the one to lead him right into the capital, only to be caught in the crossfire, to be a casualty of the battle she had helped to start.

But she had been cloned, her DNA blended with that of a human, and then sent to Earth. The human part of her had been dominant. Always worried about the insignificant humans she was surrounded by, always trying to stay hidden. To be normal.

But Kivar had come to Earth, had brought her back to life. Being taken away from him again, being trapped in this place wasn't going to stop her. No. She'd get the attention of whoever had brought her here. She was going back. Or Colligo would burn to the ground.

Destruction.

Pointless destruction.

Dream allowed himself to feel momentarily miffed at his younger brother for abdicating his post--not that it would have made a difference, since Destro was not here in Colligo. War had been here, but she might have approved of such acts of aggression. Who knew?

He appeared in the streets where Vilandra was, led there by the dreams of a few sleepers who had startled awake at the noise of buckling metal. Now, all he had to do was reach her, put her into a deep sleep, and find somewhere to lock her up.

But first he had to reach her.

Vilandra's smirk widened into a smile at the sight of Dream. She put her hands down and called out to him, "I was wondering when you'd arrive..." She closed her eyes for a moment, opening them before adding, "Isabel really doesn't like that you're here; she's fighting so hard to take back this body. Because you made a promise, right? To protect each other?"

She put her hands back up in the air, "I didn't make that promise."

With a flick of both of her wrists, the cars, along with the now-shattered glass of every window and door of each building, were headed toward the middle of the street. And towards Dream.

Dream paid little heed to her goading. He didn't care what she thought of his timing. He was here. He didn't care that Vilandra was going to do her level best to prevent Isabel from keeping her end of the promise. He was going to keep his word regardless.

He made an even smaller gesture than Isabel had, a mere rubbing together of his thumb and forefinger, sprinkling a few grains of sand. Reality shifted, time seeming to slow down as Dream worked his own magic: altering the projectiles into little more a fine sand which blew by harmlessly, his cape billowing like thick, black smoke in the wind of their passing.

Another sprinkling of Sand, and he transported them from the streets of Colligo into an empty plane of the Dreaming, far from anyone or anything that she could harm. "Do you think to fight me in my own territory?"

Vilandra did not want to be in a dream plane. It wasn't a matter of fear, of worrying that she couldn't hold her own with Dream. It was a matter of attention. She couldn't get the attention of whoever had brought her to Colligo if she was stuck in this plane. And she wanted that attention, wanted to spread her destruction. She wanted whoever had brought her here to know that they had messed with the wrong person.

And that had consequences.

Just like dragging her into this dream plane would. Vilandra could feel her anger rising, but she reined it in. She wasn't stupid. Anger, if used correctly, could help you. But it could also overtake you, could lead to mistakes. And she couldn't afford that right now.

"It's not just yours. And if I have to defeat you here to get back to destroying the city, then that's what I'll do."
