Who: Lily, James Sirius, Al (And Luke)
What: Protecting the family
Where: A cafe then the flat
When: Backdated to yesterday
Warnings: TBA
Status: In progress

She was terrified. Without a doubt terrified. She had not thought there was any chance in hell that Voldemort would turn up here, especially now that things had settled. And yet there he was and all she had time to do was grab her son, run out the flat and apparate out. How the hell did he get in there? Did the village think sending Voldemort straight into her home was some sort of joke? When she turned up in the middle of the street that she clearly must have imagined in that moment and walked into a cafe, taking a seat that looked out at the window.

She was rather relieved when James Sirius said he would come and get her, and she kept Luke close to her the entire time. She didn't even have a bag or anything for him. She would have to find a shop at some point to buy all his essentials, unless she managed to go to her flat very quickly. She could leave Luke with the boys and go. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she pressed a kiss to Luke's forehead but kept an eye out for anyone she had to get away from.

Lily looked relieved when James Sirius showed up. She may have been worried that Voldemort had used polyjuice to make her believe that he was really James. But she knew Voldemort, and she knew that he wouldn't do that. The hesitation over what to call him she had expected and didn't mind either way. He could call her whatever he felt more comfortable with and she would answer to it.

"We need to get somewhere not so out in the open," she said as she stood, walking over to him with Luke firm in her arms. "He'll be looking for us, surely."

But things had been quiet so far, but he hadn't been here for long. Maybe he was trying to make a plan, though that seemed odd for Voldemort.

{OOC: Sorry it's not that detailed, I'm falling asleep here but wanted to get to tags first.}

"Come on, we'll go to mine and Al's. He won't find you there." Jamie said as Lily approached with Luke. It was still a little strange to think that the baby in her arms was technically his father, but he was sure it would easier as time went on. Right now though wasn't really the time to think about all of that because he had to get them someplace safe, "Lets go round to the the alley out backa and we'll apparatefigure from there."

She hoped he wouldn't. After all, Voldemort was gone by the time the boys were born so he wouldn't know of them. Nodding at him, she bounced Luke a little who seemed to know that something was wrong. Babies could sense a change in strong moods, she knew that, so she had to try and make herself a little happier. It would be hard, but for Luke's sake she had to try.

"We need to be quick."

"Right. Let's go." Keeping an eye out for any movements and one hand on his wand, Jamie led the way outside and towards the alley around the back of the cafe; he didn't really know if the locals paid any attention to things like apparaion or not considering their was no statute of secrecy here, but he still didn't feel right just apparating out in public, "So, where's grandad?"

She followed James Sirius to the alley, switching Luke to her other arm so she could have better use of her right hand for her wand. Her eyes constantly looked around to make sure that they weren't being followed and when James finally spoke, she looked back at him but only briefly. She was too busy looking around after that.

"Work. I've tried to get a hold of him."

"We'll try to get a hold of him again once we're safe," Jamie didn't like to think that Lily hadn't been able to get a hold of James, especially with Voldemort running around in the city, but he just had to keep thinking positively and know that they would get a hold of him soon. "Ok, coast is clear." He pulled out his wand, wrapped his other arm around his grandmother then glanced over at her and Luke, "Ready?" With that, they apparated to his and Al's flat.

Ten minutes. That's how long Al had given his brother to go to the cafe to fetch their grandmother and apparate back to the relative safety of their flat. The deadline had been ten minutes and he'd given it to his brother nearly eight minutes earlier. And although a large part of him wanted to call the deadline a bit early and leave out after the duo, he instead continued doing what he'd been doing since the moment he'd spotted Lily's network post.

Pacing back and forth, back and forth, in the very same spot in the living room to the point that he thought it was very likely he'd end up with a worn spot on the rug if he kept it up much longer. However standing still wasn't an option so, with his wand in one hand, his PDA in the other, and lines of worry creasing his forehead, he checked the network yet again for anything further from his family and continued to pace. With each passing second, his stomach clenched and his throat felt as though there was a lump the size of Hogwarts trapped within it. Yet the thought of leaving that spot to grab a glass of water from the kitchen didn't even enter his mind. There would be time to drink later, when his family was safe and Voldemort wasn't still roaming about.

With thirty seconds left to go on the ten minute mark, Al sighed heavily and checked the network one last time. They weren't coming, he decided, any pretense of being the patient, reasonable brother starting to fade rapidly. Sliding his PDA into his pocket, he glanced toward the clock on the wall just as the final few seconds ticked by. Then he held his wand out, envisioning the place he wanted to go in his mind's eye, and was just about to leave when the telltale sign of people apparating into the flat reached his ears.

Instantly Al turned, a quick glance confirming it was his brother and their grandmother. Shoving aside the slight relief he felt, he immediately tossed up a few wards set to warn them if anyone drew too close to the flat. Once they were in place, and he was sure the duo had their footing, Al re-pocketed his wand and faced them both fully.

"Cutting it a bit close, Jamie," he said to his brother, his tone tense but not quite angry. It was more a familiar sort of chastising, a way to make himself feel at least somewhat centered while his world was slowly falling apart around him. Then he looked to Lily. "What happened?" he questioned quietly, green eyes that were so much like hers shining with worry.

She moved easily into Jamie, making sure that she had Luke tight in her hold. She didn't want him to end up hurt and she also knew that when they arrived at the flat she would have to help him. It was always odd the first time you apparated and even more so as a baby, or so she assumed since it never happened to her at this age.

They arrived with a pop and Luke was instantly working up to crying. Bouncing him in her arms, she gently hushed him as she kissed his forehead. She really didn't want him upset, more so now when she was definitely feeling a little shaky. But then Al was speaking and she met his gaze, trying to give him a smile but failing rather spectacularly.

"I went in to get Luke from his cot and he was standing over his cot. I managed to knock him back, I had my wand on me, I just grabbed Luke and ran as fast as I could."

"Had to make sure the coast was clear. Didn't want to risk running right into him," Jamie knew that Al was just concerned for him and their grandmother and Luke so he didn't take offense to his brother's words. After putting his wand away, Jamie turned towards Lily as he began thinking of things he could transfigure into a cot for Luke, "How did he get in? Wouldn't you have heard it if he'd apparated?"

Al understood why his brother had taken the time he had but still couldn't quite shake the last dredges of worry that had been weighing so heavily on him during those long ten minutes. He and James might not get along all the time, and might be very different people in a great many ways, but he loved his brother and couldn't stomach the thought of anything happening to him. Not to mention, if something had happened while James was out playing hero and Al was pacing the flat, their sister would have been positively livid.

Brow furrowing a bit in thought over the story Lily had told, Al waited until James had asked his question before quietly pointing out, "If he went after Luke, that likely means he's from before he managed to get to dad when he was a baby." Al paused, realizing that neither his grandmother nor his brother had near enough of a Slytherin mindset to realize the true implications of such a thing. As he'd yet to truly formulate precisely how that could work to their advantage as of yet other than knowing it could, he made a change in the subject. "Though before we sort out how to deal with him, we need to make certain everyone else is safe first."

"We have wards up. That's what I don't understand; how he could get in even with wards up preventing people from apparating inside"

Lily closed her eyes, trying to calm herself once again as Luke screamed a little more. She tried to hush him and after a while of bouncing she managed to calm his screams to sniffles. She wanted to try and keep him happy and it wasn't going to happen if she kept getting worked up and what Al said only made her want to panic more.

"So he's after him? Oh god," she had to calm down and she really did blame the shock at seeing that face over her sons cot. "Yes. All of them, can we get them here? Or just...anywhere so I know everyone is safe."

Giving up on the search for something to transfigure, for the moment, Jamie approached his grandmother again, holding his arms out slightly, "Want me to hold him for awhile? Might be easier for both of you to calm down." Jamie was nowhere near an expert on babies, but he knew enough that babies usually sensed when the person holding them was upset or something along those lines and he knew that his grandmother needed to calm down, not that he blamed her for being worked up of course all things considering.

"Who all is here? Grandad, Sirius, Remus, Lils." He glanced over at Al while he waited to see whether or not his grandmother would accept his offer or not, "Aunt Hermione and Hugo too, right?"
