Sam had been taking a break from the books. In his office, he stood by the window, a mug of coffee in hand. He'd been staring at the sky, but his eyes dropped and scanned the people milling about, and that's when he saw her.

Lilith. The first demon.

Her face haunted his dreams, and he knew without a doubt it was her. He felt his heart skip a beat, and then pick up the pace. The mug fell from his hand and shattered, splattering coffee all over the wall and the side of his desk. It burned his skin where it hit his pants leg, but he barely noticed.

He stood there stunned for a long moment. When he was able to breathe, he pulled his PDA out of his pocket. He dropped it twice before he could access the network and see that Ruby had already posted. There was only one thing to do; he had to get home to Ruby and Caden. Dean would understand, he wasn't worried about going MIA from work.

He was worried about what he'd find when he got him.

	"I did," Ruby said. "I thought you might be hungry." She looked over Sam, locking eyes with him. "Caden, why don't you go play in your room for a little while? Daddy I need to talk." 	Ruby moved close to him on the bed, grabbing a hold of his hand. "So what do we now, Sam? Going after her directly isn't the best option...and I think this time, it's something we can both agree on. Sam nodded. Before he spoke, he leaned in to kiss Ruby, soft and gentle, but possessive at the same time. "We're not going to put ourselves in danger going after her." He shook his head. He understood why Ruby went after Alistair, he couldn't blame her, but he didn't like it. He'd be more than a little upset if she did the same reckless act again, going after Lilith.

"it's not just Lilith. There's hounds in town too." Sam made a face. "I heard them, and it's not Crowley's beast." Crowley kept his hound on a tight leash. No one had had any trouble out of him, ever, that Sam knew of.

	Ruby nodded. "No going after her. I wasn't planning on it. She's not going to let me away with my gut bleeding out, like Alistair did." She wrinkled her nose. "I thought I smelled them. 	"I think we can both agree, Caden is priority." Sam shifted to bring himself that much closer to Ruby. "I don't want him out of our sight." He was in his room at the moment, and Sam felt a little apprehensive about that, but he also knew Caden's room was one of the safest places in all of Colligo. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"We can ask him if he'd like that," Sam nodded. Keeping Caden safe was his first priority, and he had no doubt the four year old would love to sleep in his parent's room. He just wouldn't tell anyone else, it was none of their business anyway, and as far as they knew, Caden slept in his demon proofed bedroom. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Definitely," Sam agreed. "I don't think he's going to complain, either." He shifted, turned to Ruby and leaned in to kiss her. "Not so much." Sam ran his fingers through Ruby's hair. "He's probably just sitting in his room waiting for us to come and get him." He wasn't sure there was much more to say, that had to be said privately, and he really didn't want Caden out of their sight that long. He was safe from demons and hounds in his room, but devil traps and salt lines wouldn't keep everything out.

	"I'll do the honors." Sam slid out of bed, got to his feet. He glanced back at Ruby when he reached the door. So many thoughts were going through his mind, Ruby and Caden's safety being the the priority. "We'll figure this out." He kissed his finger tips and blew it toward her, then disappeared to go and get their son. (Reply to this) (Parent)
