WHO: Sirius Black and Lily Potter
WHAT: Searching for clues. Which is easier said than done in that flat.
WHEN: September 24th
WHERE: Sirius (and absent Remus') flat.
RATING: PG
STATUS: In Progress

Sirius (Who didn't know he was Sirius) woke up in a state of complete confusion. He was in a bed, which was usually a good start. He sat up, propping himself against the headboard and looking around the otherwise empty room. It was lived in, with a few dirty shirts chucked carelessly to one side and a pile of books on the far side table. There was half a cup of water within arms reach, and Sirius reached over to grab it and take a grateful gulp, still looking around him and trying to force his brain to start working.

Nothing rang any bells. He had no bloody idea where he was. Come to think of it, he didn't know who he was. That was disconcerting. Suddenly a little freaked out, Sirius automatically reached out to grab the wand that was resting on the side-table besides the water, kicked the duvet back and clambered out of bed. With one last look around the admittedly quite comforting room, he moved to the door and twisted the handle, poking his head around into what appeared to be a sitting room.

"Erm... Hello?" Sirius stepped out into the room, still dressed just in the boxers he'd woken up in. There didn't seem to be anyone here, although yet again the room seemed to have the mish-mash of different interests that made it feel lived in. Books and magazines and tea cups and all sorts of bits chucked around. Organised mess, Sirius thought vaguely, nudging yet another pile of books with his toe. Then he noticed another door, one that looked like it might lead to a second bedroom, and there were faint noises drifting from behind it. Without really considering what he was doing, Sirius strode to the other doorway and knocked.

"Hello?"

A redheaded woman opened the door. She was very pretty, was the first thing Sirius-who-didn't-know-he-was-Sirius noticed. Very pretty. But for some reason he seemed to forget it very quickly. Maybe he'd really cracked his head at some point. Sirius blinked at her, scrubbing a hand through his hair so it stood up even more awkwardly than it had been before. "Uh... I'm not really sure..."

He winced at how stupid that sounded, but he honestly he didn't understand it. He really had no idea, and Sirius was finding it more than a little bit disconcerting. "Who are you?" he asked the girl, turning back to look hopelessly at her after another look around the sitting room. "Is this your place?"

"I...don't know," she responded to his question about who she was. She honestly didn't have a clue and that had to be another, rather large, indication that things were wrong. Surely she should know who she is? Biting her lip, she glanced away a little shyly and slightly embarrassed. But at least he didn't know who he was so surely she didn't look too stupid.

"I don't know if it is." She glanced around, trying to see if there were any clues as to who either of them were or where they are. But then she noticed the stick in his hand and then turned to the bed where she had noticed one on the table when she woke up. "You have a stick too."

"I... Oh yeah," Sirius glanced down at the stick he'd picked up for more or less no reason, staring a little blankly at it for a moment. "I dunno why." Without anywhere better to put it, Sirius shoved the stick into the waistband of his boxers and suddenly realised that both him and redheaded-lady were in a rather obvious state of undress.

"We should probably put clothes on," he commented. "Erm.. I'll meet you back out here in a moment? Do you have stuff in there?" He nodded over her shoulder to the room she'd apparently been sleeping in. It didn't look as lived-in as the bedroom he'd woken up in. Perhaps it was a spare? But then why was there a girl sleeping there?

Quite frankly, nothing here made any kind of sense.

Her eyes fell to where he put the stick, her eyes instantly jumping up when she realised he was only in his boxers. Clearing her throat, she chose to look anywhere but at him. This really wasn't going to be good. After all, how would they know exactly what was going on here if they didn't even know their own names?

"Yes, we should." She glanced back into the room to see jeans and a top folded over a chair along with a bra but nothing else. Maybe she hadn't intended on sleeping in this room. Looking back at him, she nodded. "There's something here."

She would have a proper look later.

"Okay," Sirius smiled a little awkwardly (An expression that didn't look particulary right sat on his face) and reached to close her door for her. Then he turned and padded back towards his own room. Or what was might be his room. Sirius exhaled heavily and pushed the door open, stepping back into the room he'd woken up in.

Making a beeline for one dresser, Sirius open it up and found himself staring at a pile of button-up, long sleeved shirts. With a frown, he pulled one out and examined it at arms length. It was obviously a bit too small for him. Which suggested this wasn't his room, but the bedroom of some smaller, thinner bloke. Sirius huffed and dropped the shirt back into the drawer, not bothering to close it before he turned to look somewhere else.

After a bit of searching he located a plain black t-shirt in what appeared to be the sock drawer of the other dresser, along with a pair of jeans. They both seemed to fit, so he pulled both on and moved back into the main room. Sirius bounded towards the kitchen, and when the ginger woman came back the kettle was starting to boil and Sirius was on a chair looking at the top of the shelves.

"Okay," she repeated, giving him a strained smile, stepping back as he closed the door. Only then did she take a breath and look away trying to figure it all out. She was confused by it all, understandably so since she had no memories. She didn't even know her name. Walking over to the clothes, she quickly shed the shirt and pulled them on before glancing around the room. There wasn't really much lying about.

Maybe she didn't normally live here.

Brushing a hand through her hair, she glanced at the wedding ring as she left the room. Following the noise, she finally lent against the door frame and watched him.

"Do you remember anything at all?"
