Who: Steve Rogers and Jim Howlett Logan.
What: Hanging out and being bros. Saving Logan from babysitting a bunch of kids. Going on a guy-date. Stopping traffic with the combined power of their abs. You know...stuff.
Where: Starting at the parking lot and going from there.
When: Yesterday evening.
Rating: TBD.
Status: In progress.

Something in Steve's gut told him that this Logan guy was Jim Howlett, and the years since he'd agreed to Dr. Erskine's experiment had taught him to trust his gut. It had got him through more than one scrap with his enemies during the war, and it continued to serve him even now. Still, he wasn't going to push things. Judging by the conversations Logan was having with others, even if he was Jim he didn't remember that fact. And anyway, this wasn't about who Logan might or might not have been. This was about motorcycles. Steve liked his, old as it was by modern standards, and he was looking forward to comparing her with Logan's. He needed some friends in the city, and Logan was familiar enough in his own way that he put Steve at ease. Seeing someone he might know, even if it didn't turn out to be the case, helped to lessen the sting of guilt that still plagued him when he thought of Bucky.

Standing in the parking lot with his bike, he grinned when he spotted Logan approaching. Yeah, it was definitely Jim all right, though a lot of time had passed for him. Steve could tell just looking at him, the same way he would have recognized any of his allies, even in a lineup of doppelgängers. Still, if the man didn't want to know his past, Steve wasn't going to force it on him. Besides, he still didn't know himself how Jim still looked exactly the same after all these years. Unlike himself, the other man didn't have the excuse of suspended animation and being brought to the future. But that was for another time. For now, he was just going to be friendly and spare the guy a night of looking after kids and teenagers. "Hey there, pal," he said with an easy smile, sticking his hand out to shake Logan's. "It's good to meet you in person."

The mansion was a madhouse, as far as Logan was concerned. The people who were supposed to be responsible adults were barely old enough to tie their shoes. The kids were just old enough to swear and drink and get into trouble whether Logan liked it or not. The woman Logan would never have trusted to look after anyone was in fact the most responsible adult available and doing a surprisingly good job of looking after the little ones. It was more confusion than he wanted to deal with, so the opportunity to get out of the house with someone who shared his love of a good motorcycle and ability to slam back an entire bottle of whiskey without being plastered was more than welcome, even if that person raised the hackles on the back of Logan's neck just a little. He didn't like the idea that he apparently looked like someone Steve knew, not when Steve was a complete stranger to him, not when Logan himself had no idea if it were possible he'd run into the man before. So, Logan did what he usually did with problems he couldn't solve and shoved it to the back of his mind.

Speaking of Steve, the man was already in the lot when Logan arrived, grinning the way only genuinely nice people did and offering a hand straight off. He even said "pal". Who the hell said "pal"? Logan did his best not to look too skeptical, though he couldn't help the raised eyebrows. "Same to you, bub," he returned, clasping Steve's hand for a quick, firm shake. "Nice bike," he added in short order, sincerely impressed. He hadn't seen that model in ages, and it was a good one for its time. A classic, really, and Logan liked classics. They somehow felt familiar.
