WHAT: Lyle's already spent movie night with a bunch of girls, and now, he's on to stage two of the great socializing endeavor: group activities.

WHEN: July 8th; Evening
RATING: PG
STATUS: In Progress
Without his sister or Molly to put up with his insanity, Lyle had taken to inflicting it on others. And he'd been rather surprised to find that most people didn't seem to mind his own patented brand of crazy. Granted, it probably helped that a good percentage of the people trapped in this place were equally as insane, driven to the edge by circumstances as nutty or nuttier than what he'd experienced back home, and didn't seem to be horribly phased by a regular kid prone to heavy tones of realistic sarcasm. Not that he would have been, either, if he'd been in their shoes. Of course, the successes that had come from his recent attempts at normal human interaction spurred a new courage in the normally antisocial teen and had prompted him to do something completely insane.
Like go to a late night roller disco in search of potential company.
It wasn't the most orthodox of selections that Lyle could have made. Most people his age might have selected a bar or a dance club for evening entertainment, but Lyle had been in college in California long enough to realize that bars were usually seriously depressing places while dance clubs were dark, sweaty, and loud. This place, while not exactly a far step away from a dance club in many respects, was at least less crowded and had the volume on the music turned down to a much more suitable level. One that made conversations actually humanly possible without ending up hoarse the next day, at least. This place came with its own pains, though.
He'd be lucky tomorrow if he could sit down without wincing.
He might not have been the grandest skater in the place, marked by his haste to clear off the rink whenever one of those complicated line dances was called, but when he did manage to get fully around the rink without his skates going out from under him, it was worth all of the effort. As was the conversation he'd had during the evening, even if it had only been with a handful of locals so far.
