WHO: Lily Potter and the Tenth Doctor
WHAT: Collecting the worried pregnant lady from her flat.
WHEN: Just after this.
WHERE: Starting in the hallway outside Lily and James', then the TARDIS.
STATUS: In Progress

Another experiment, it seemed. This time separating people from their our own realities. From their friends and, in some instances, their families. It was like putting everyone in a web of extremely complicated, overlappting parallel universes that bled into each other in certain ways but remained stubbornly separate in others. Clever, actually. Good bit of physics and stuff. It'd be fun to work it out. But then people were worried and upset about it and it was understandable. The Doctor wasn't completely worried. He knew Rose would take care of herself, had friends to keep her company and even though he'd miss her, he'd see her again soon. Compared to some experiments this wasn't really too bad.

Still, Lily Potter was pregnant and worried and he did like the company, so he went to help her. He'd grown to be friends with Lily during her friendship with Donna and the hard time after his redheaded best friend had left. She was a good person, and he was even starting to look beyond the fact that she was a central pillar in one of the most popular literary works in the 20th Century. That happened, he'd learnt. In the end you stopped looking at them in that light and started to just appreciate them for the people they were. In that vein, this whole city was rather educational.

The TARDIS materialised a few feet from the Potters front door, and the Doctor slipped out of the blue box to knock. He stepped back, shoving his hands deep into his coat pockets to wait.

"Yes, but they don't normally look like this."

The tents were made to look like home. This was far from normal, it was a machine. Yes their tents looked bigger inside than they did out like this thing but not as obviously mechanical. She placed her hand on her stomach as she walked further in, the baby seemingly enjoying this place too. He hadn't stopped kicking and squirming since she walked in and there wasn't exactly enough room for him to do so. She sat at his words, glad that it wasn't too low down or she would really embarrass herself and need to ask for help standing once more.

"That's fine."

The Doctor nodded and turned over to the console, starting up the TARDIS properly. There was a noise from somewhere deep underneath them, like something waking up. Then the lights intensified and started to pulse and several screens crackled into life. On one a feed of the network started to scroll downwards, while a load of Gallfreyian started to spell itself out on another. There were a few minutes where the Doctor was distracted, pirroetting around the console to press buttons and pull levers and finally bring them to a standstill.

"There!" he grinned, spinning back to look at Lily. "How're you feeling? No... baby squirming? I can do a quick scan if you like?"

She watched him as he moved around the console, a hand holding firmly onto the arm of the seat. If it got bad she had her wand close to cushion the flooring in case. That was one of the great things about being a witch; it gave her the opportunity to protect her unborn baby a little bit more. But it didn't seem too bad and soon they had stopped. She gave him a smile when he looked at her.

"He always squirms, more so now though. I am sure it's fine."

She was. Squirming and kicking was okay, constant staying still was the worry.
