Thor tried to mask his reaction at Loki's statement but concealing his emotions had never been high on Thor's list of skills so the pained wince on his features was clearly visible before he struggled for something substantial to argue against the point. Sadly, there wasn't really anything that could be to combat a statement that was in majority true, "Mother misses you as well," Thor said, knowing that it was perhaps the least bit of reassurance that there possibly could have been. Had there been anyone else who would have missed Loki other than himself, it would have been their mother.
"They simply don't understand, Loki," Thor said, reaching out and settling a hand reassuringly on his brother's shoulder. Thor knew because he hadn't understood, either. He had been a warrior. He had thought with a warrior's heart and not what little mind he was capable of. So much would have been spared if he had simply paid his brother's opinions the attention that he had deserved. It wasn't as though Loki hadn't tried his best to make him see sense on most every occasion. "None of us did. And I'm sorry for that."
