Loki stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked up at his older brother. He purposely kept the distance between them, as if it was to be a metaphor about their relationship. At least, with how Loki saw it; being forever in the shadow of Thor, being someone of less worth. In all fairness truth, Loki knew that was not how Thor saw him. Still, the recent events had tarnished his trust in his brother. Loki hoped that out of anyone, Thor would be the one to understand why he did what he did. It would seem to others that Loki would have wanted his brother dead, but that was far from the truth. Loki wanted his brother out of the way so he could, like always, clean up his mess.
With a deep breath, Loki raised his head slightly as if he were still a welcomed son in their father's house.
"Brother," he said, "how long has it been since we last saw each other? Days? Weeks? Months? Traveling through realms without the Bifrost can be rather... disorientating."
