WHO: Morgs and Bal.
WHAT: Random run-ins outside the park. Morgana was sword-practicing. Bal got bored and watched.
WHEN: Yesterday afternoon.
WHERE: Near the dumpster out back of 7-11. Or the park.
Status: Closed/Incomplete
RATING: TBD!

She much preferred practicing, sparring, with someone as to test how much she had grown. To test her mettle. It wasn’t that Morgana wasn’t capable of pushing herself to be her best - in fact she did rather well in that, only excelling more at taunting others into being theirs - but she liked to see for comparison. She often felt as if she had so much to catch up on. Morgana wouldn’t be wrong on that part. She had been good with her wooden sword as a child, even better with the real blade that her father had gotten her on her eighth birthday. Certainly better than Arthur at any rate. Which counted for a lot, more than Morgana would ever admit to his ever inflated head. After her father died and when she reached a certain age, practice had been frown upon. And then it had been forbidden. Not that she had let that stop her. Gods, if she had even been one to allow ‘forbidden’ to stop her the world would have been a safer place in one realm of Camelot. Morgana had practiced and practiced until she bruised in places that young ladies shouldn’t bruise in but teaching herself wasn’t the same. When her time became more and more taken up by duties and a castle and side-stepping other things - such as potential marriage proposals - she had less and less time to watch the knights train. Half-arsedly gleaning their moves to try on on her own. After a while, it came down to repeating the old same movements until she wore out the grass outside the citadel gates. She was good yet untrained. Effective yet frustrated. Because Morgana liked to learn and even more, Morgana liked to be better. Effective hadn’t been good enough when she had known all that she could have been with a sword.

Effective didn’t cut it anymore here. It didn’t have to, therefore, it didn’t. Morgana badgered whoever she could sweet talk or insult into showing her. Just showing her everything, anything. She was an open book.

And she tested what she learned on others and corrected her mistakes, sometimes on her own. Mostly on Mondays as she usually had fencing during the weekends, it was a good way to compound on what was learned.

Sword and towel tucked away, Morgana walked out of the park. It had been a good day and her mood now showed it.

Given that this place seemed to break apart into insanity every other week, Balthazar was beginning to appreciate the calmer moments of the city. Contrary to popular belief Balthazar actually had very little taste for Chaos. However he found chaos to be preferable to enslavement to the father or Raphael and really far preferable to death. But the peaceful moments in this city, while occasionally breaching into boring, allowed some time for thought.

He had the luxury of walking through the park if he wished. The novelty of such things still struck him sometimes. Free will was not all grand gestures and rampant sex parties, though he did really enjoy those. There were far simpler pleasures, far simpler freedoms that could just not have been fathomed before. Balthazar did not need a purpose to go walking, he simply could because the whim struck him. It was an exhilarating feeling really.

And it did lead to the most curious sights, such as seeing a woman wandering about with a sword. He couldn't help the slight smirk. "It's so nice to see a regular sort of those and not the angel stabbing kind." he said aloud without actually thinking.

Morgana hesitated in her step, her brow quirking ever so slightly as she quickly discerned that the words were meant for her. She turned her head to look; the man was across the path she was walking on. On the other side but just a few feet away. "Excuse me?"

It was certainly an odd thing to say and random without being quite so. It was either an interesting way to start a conversation or he was someone who liked to muse out loud. Morgana surveyed the man quickly, wondering if he was an angel or if he was in the business of making swords that harmed angels. That was interesting to her, more so than his random utterance of phrases. Not that she had the desire to kill angels - but after knowing of Excalibur, Morgana found the concept - as the daughter of a knight and the (slightly, sorta former) best friend of a blacksmith's daughter - of special swords a curious one. "As someone with a fondness for the human stabbing kind," Morgana retorted with a smirk of her own. "I say that yes, it usually is nice to see them around."
