WHO: Jade, Ruby, and Sam Winchester
WHAT: Ruby was attacked by a werewolf. This is the aftermath.
WHEN: [Backdated] After this and this.
WHERE: Ruby & Jade's apartment
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Jade was worried. As a former Archangel it actually took quite a bit for her to really, authentically worry about something and yet right now that was certainly the case. Ruby had been attacked by a werewolf and, although she had managed to stumble home, was definitely worse for the wear. Although Jade knew that her roommate could simply find another host (or, rather, meatsuit as demons tended to refer to human hosts) without much trouble, she also knew that doing such a thing would probably cause a bit of a stir in the city. As Jade would rather not have a lynch mob appear at their door following such a thing, she rather hoped it didn't come to that.

Of course, the one good thing about retaining the knowledge she'd had as Amitiel meant she also still knew more than enough ways to heal someone. While her abilities as an Arc would no longer work, she did still know field triage and was all too happy to bandage her roommate up so she didn't bleed out all over their couch. Unfortunately, Jade wasn't sure if that was something Ruby would go for and, in her panic, had decided that the best course of action wasn't to ask the demon if she wanted help but rather to contact someone who could probably talk her into it if nothing else.

After having a quick conversation with Sam Winchester, and making sure the front door was unlocked so he could get in without issue, Jade made her way back into the living room to sit with Ruby until he arrived. She didn't comment on who she'd contacted or that she'd even used her PDA at all while claiming she had to use the restroom. She simply silently carried in what first aid things they had on hand and set them down on the coffee table. Then she turned to Ruby with a look that was a mixture of worry and sheer stubbornness.

"Let me help you."

Just four simple words, spoken in a carefully neutral tone, yet they spoke volumes for the Archangel turned human. After all, it wasn't every day that Jade offered to help bandage someone up following a brawl. She had mostly given that up after losing her wings. So it really said a lot that she was willing to do so now. Even if she doubted Ruby realized as much. Idly, she wished Sam would hurry up and arrive. If Ruby wouldn't let her help, it might very well be too late - demon healing taken into consideration or not - by the time he finally graced them with his presence.

Sam had taken time to see that Caden was settled with Juno, before heading to Ruby and Jade's apartment. Jade had said she'd leave the door open for him; he didn't even stop to check, and would have slammed into the door with full force if it hadn't opened. He kicked the door shut behind him without really looking at it or paying attention to it.

"How's the patient?" he asked Jade, but his focus was on Ruby. He stalked over to her, the sight of her blood giving him a start. Somewhere in his memory, he remembered the song of her blood, the call of it, the need. But Aziraphale had taken away his craving, he didn't want the blood, but he found himself staring at it, and he had such intensity in his focus that he didn't hear Jade speaking to him.

He blinked, scrubbed a hand over his face. He let his hand fall toward Ruby's hand, seeking to give her hand a squeeze. He glanced at Jade, and probably looked a little sheepish. "What can I do?" He wasn't going to get distracted by the blood, this time. He kept his eyes on Jade.

Ruby's eyes fluttered a little when she heard Sam's voice. Damn. She was lying on the sofa, bleeding out, and while she was glad to see him, she wasn't so glad to be seeing him here when she was like this. Not after he had told her that he was off her blood.

"I'll be fine..." she said, squeezing his hand. "It's just a flesh wound."

Honestly, Jade hadn't really thought about Sam having issue with all of Ruby's blood. She knew the story - there was no way she could be friends with Cas and not know it - but she had assumed he was past all of that. She'd had her addiction to drugs removed from her system the last time she had been in the city and had recently asked Cas to do the same for her when she'd returned this time. She had thought Sam must have done the same during all of the time he'd been there.

Of course, not being addicted any longer and not remembering how it had once made you feel were two very different things. So even if Sam had asked the addiction itself be removed that didn't mean seeing so much of it wouldn't cause him to take pause. She very nearly apologized for her oversight, for putting him such a position, but she stopped herself. She hadn't forced him to come over and, besides that, Ruby needed him here. So Jade pushed aside her faint guilt at not thinking things through quite as much as she should have and snorted quietly at Ruby's insistence that she merely had a flesh wound.

"I think the definition of flesh wound isn't quite what you think it is," she said mildly, her gaze flickering back to Sam. "Unless she wants me to stitch her up, there isn't much more to be done at this point." Which wasn't entirely true. Jade could ask Cas to come over and heal Ruby fully, and he would if only because she'd asked, but she wasn't going to put her roommate in that sort of position and certainly wasn't going to 'out' Sam for being there either.

"But thank you for coming," she added after a brief pause. "I'm going to go wash up." And give them a few minutes, even if she didn't say as much.

"She's not thinking clearly, she doesn't get a choice in the matter." Sam looked up at Jade and nodded. "A wound like this needs to be closed up. That's what we're doing." He turned his gaze to Ruby, his expression hard and unwavering. He wasn't going to hear any arguments on the matter.

He reached for Ruby's hand, possibly showing more affection than he should in front of someone else. He was keeping his relationship with Ruby from his brother, from everyone. He shouldn't be advertising it in any way, but he wasn't going to act like he didn't care, he wasn't going to play like he wasn't concerned when he was very concerned. Ruby could heal herself, but how long would it take? How long before blood loss started to affect her? Sam wasn't willing to take that chance.
