Who: Cas and Jade.
What: Meeting back up.
Where: The steps of the library.
When: Right after this.
Rating: TBD.
Status: In progress.

Cas was surprised by just how glad he was to see Jade again. That wasn't to say that he hadn't expected to be happy if she returned to the city, and he had missed her horribly when she was gone, but the intensity of the emotion still surprised him. Cas wasn't an overly emotional person, and even less so as an angel. Emotions were squirmy things that left him confused more often than not. He was good with ignoring them for the most part, and it served him well. But he was thrilled, more than thrilled, to have his sister back in the city. Apart from Balthazar, and his reality's Gabriel, he had little use for his siblings. Jade was one of the few exceptions, and the one member of his family who truly understood him. So, of course, he left Dean and Parker to their sexy reconciliation (not that they knew they were going to have a sexy reconciliation, but sometimes being an angel had its perks) and headed to the library to meet his sister.

He appeared next to her, noting immediately that she looked different. It took a moment to register, then he realized what it was. She was human again. Human and back on the drugs that had kept her a prisoner before. He had known of course, but there was a difference between knowing and seeing first hand. He'd gotten used to Jade with her Grace back and he felt an ache at the loss of connection, as well as a strange sense of jealousy. It wasn't over the drugs, that was firmly in his past, but he missed being human. He didn't want to live forever and lose Parker and Dean and others. He didn't want to have a heavenly duty. He missed the freedom of humanity. It was something he'd thought on a lot since making his deal with Death. Was it right for him to serve God in this way if it was for the wrong reasons? He shook his head, casting the thoughts aside for later. That wasn't why he was here. He was here to talk to Jade. "Hey, sis," he said, giving her a little wave. He meant it in a different way than other angels did. It wasn't just lip-service. Jade really had been family to him here.

Cas smiled softly when Jade admitted she trusted him, and he wasn't remotely offended at the suggestion that he could be a hallucination. In fact, he just laughed and gave a little shrug. "I'd like to think if I were a hallucination, I'd be taller," he said thoughtfully, "or have a really awesome moustache. Or a hat. Come on, Jade. Be more inventive with your hallucinations." It was his unique way of pointing out that the idea of him being a hallucination was just silly. Well, not in a general sense, but he knew he personally wasn't a hallucination. He'd like to think someone would have told him by then that he was a hallucination. Now he was getting completely off track.

"He probably doesn't give a fuck," he said, taking a drag of his cigarette and grinning easily. "That's how he rolls, right? All grumpy british not-giving-a-fuck and whatnot." He paused a moment, considering something. "Now I'm picturing ickle-me going blond and that's just an awkward mental image. Blond really isn't a good look for us. I'll keep that in mind in the future." Not that he would ever consider dying his hair. Parker and Dean would never let him live it down, and Crowley would give him awkward smirky looks. "I'm rambling again, aren't I?" It was a bad habit that he'd never really seen fit to break. Really, there were worse habits to have, and he'd broken several of those in the past.

"What I've been up to?" he asked, cocking his head to the side thoughtfully. "Well...been an angel and stuff...which is about as thrilling as you might expect. Kind of doing the threesome thing with Dean and Parker. It's weird sometimes but it works for us. Tessa really doesn't like me, but she's moved past passive-aggressiveness and on to snark, so progress! Mom's back in town, which is good, because if it had been Chuck, I'd have punched him again. I like girl-God. She's pretty chill. I'm still running the center, and that's going well. You're welcome to have your old job back." He paused. "Oh! Dean went all crazy and stabbed Jack the Ripper a couple months back. His daughter got pretty pissed about that. Did you know Jack the Ripper has a vampire daughter?" He glanced over at her. "Oh, and I've missed you a lot."
