The deaths were her fault, despite what Willow, Crowley, and Adam had said. Dawn knew the truth - if she hadn't been there, if the monks had never turned her human, no one would be in danger from Glory. No one would have died. Eliot, Molly, so many others. Too many others. Too many were going to die yet, if Glory had her way. Dawn knew that she couldn't turn herself over - that would be condemning them all to death. And she also knew if she tried to get to Ben, Glory would surface in a heartbeat. There was just one thing left to do, and that was to end her own life. Like Ben had said, if she was dead, Glory wouldn't have a reason to ever surface again. She'd never be able to get home, and would go back to lurking in his mind, trapped forever. Really, it hadn't been that hard of a choice.

Usually when peopled died in Colligo, they came back. Dawn hoped that was the case, but in case it wasn't, she had asked Sam to take Katie...in case she didn't come back. She'd written notes while pretending to watch TV with Spike. Letters to Parker & Jude to tell them how right they'd been, a letter to Sam, letters to Willow and Spike, and one for Buffy that would likely never get read. As she moved around the apartment, she was well aware of Spike following her, watching her, so she acted as normal as she could. The letters were tucked under Katie's blanket as she put her to bed, and then went into her bedroom to get her pajamas. Finally, she turned and faced Spike head on. "I'm going to take a bath. Are you going to follow me in there, too? 'Cause...creepy, even for you."

Sam had gone to see Ruby earlier in the day. Caden was still with Juno, and after talking to her and reassuring himself that both she and the two month old were perfectly fine, he decided to stop by Dawn's apartment before he went to collect Caden. Something she'd said earlier, just her general tone when they'd spoken over the network had put Sam on edge. He wanted to check on her, maybe offer her a shoulder to lean on for a bit, before he went home.

He knocked at her door, softly at first to try and not wake Katie if she was sleeping. He knew all too well how precious that time was, when the little one slept and all was quiet. He cherished every moment had had with his son, but when Caden slept, Sam enjoyed that time too. "Dawn? Hey, it's Sam. Open up."

Unaware yet that anything was amiss in the bathroom, Spike had continued to flip channels until he heard the knock at the door. He didn't think Dawn was expecting anyone and if it were Glory she would have probably knocked down the door instead of knocking on it, but he still proceeded with caution until Sam spoke. Spike knew very little about Sam, only that he'd been around a few times since Katie was born and had a kid of his own, but he was a friend of Dawn's and from what he'd heard, a hunter as well, so he didn't see any harm in letting him in.

"Kind of late to be visiting, don't you think, Jolly Green?" Spike smirked, quirking a brow at the much taller man. He didn't let Sam linger in the hall too long though, moving aside to let him in, not wanting to advertise the fact that Dawn was there to anyone who didn't already know.

Sam looked down his nose at the smaller, shorter man. He had a feeling looks were deceiving, and Spike could take him in a fight. "As far as nicknames go, I prefer Moose."

Sam stepped inside, and glanced back out into the hallway before shutting, and locking the door. "I talked to Dawn earlier. Said I might come by and see Katie. Guess she's probably sleeping?" Sam didn't see Dawn or Katie, and assumed Dawn was in the bedroom putting the infant down.

"Moose? You're serious?" Spike had heard more ridiculous nicknames, but he hadn't thought that anyone outside of a high school comedy was actually branded with that nickname. "If you insist."

Spike closed and locked the door once Sam was inside and started back towards the living room, not waiting to see if Sam followed before he began talking, "Mini Bit is sleeping and Dawn is taking a bath. Tried to convince her to wait, but women are funny when it comes to hygiene." It wasn't until he sat back down on the couch that the smell hit him. A familar smell. A very familar smell. A rich metallic smell. Blood.

"Shite!" Jumping up from the couch, Spike shot towards the bathroom door without even an explaination to Sam, "Dawn! Dawn, open up." The smell was stronger once he reached the bathroom door and he pounded on it twice before backing up, getting ready to throw himself at it.
