Who: Any and all teenagers and teenage-looking types.
What: It's prom night!
Where: Colligo High School.
When: May 28, evening.
Rating: Let's try to keep it family-friendly, guys.
Status: In progress. Open to multiple threads.

The gymnasium of Colligo High School was hardly recognizable. It was beautifully decorated, and there were tables around the edges of the room, with a large area cleared for dancing. A DJ's booth was in the corner and various popular songs from different worlds were playing. In another corner, there was a table with punch that, hopefully, wasn't spiked with alcohol just yet. After all, the night was still young. Local high school students, dressed in formal dresses and tuxedos, were dancing with their dates. Among the locals were various non-local teenagers, as well as some individuals who only appeared to be high-school age, behaving similarly. Meanwhile teachers stood around awkwardly and did their best to be chaperones without looking as though they were having too much fun, though some were failing miserably in that regard. The atmosphere in the room was one of ease and excitement, most everyone enjoying themselves.

For once, it seemed as though a social event in Colligo was going to go off without a hitch, beyond the normal catfights and spiking of punch that accompanied any prom, which was certainly a relief for everyone involved. It looked like this really would just be a night of fun, dancing and socializing for all the students attending.

( ooc: This is a perfectly normal prom. No alien invasions or zombies or hell-hounds or whatever. Everyone is welcome to post. Feel free to have your own threads within the post to interact with whoever you want and just have fun with it. )

Juno had driven herself and her date, and was pleased to have made it across the parking lot without tripping on her pumps. She was all dolled up, with some tips from Ariadne, and she had shocked several people that knew her by wearing a dress. It really shouldn't have surprised anyone, considering the peacock themed gifts she had been collecting lately--the guitar, the actual peacock, and what have you--but there she was.

She had single-handedly managed to bring Regulus Black to her Junior prom. That was an accomplishment right there.

Despite a morning being scolded for something he was doing, and for thoughts he didn't even harbor about Juno, Regulus wasn't really all that put off doing this prom thing for Juno. His emotions might have been high earlier, but they were in no way heated against Juno. As he told Ariadne, he rather liked Juno liking him, she put up with a lot of his shit which was an indication that maybe she did, in fact, like him enough. Enough that he could endure a bit of a crowded formal for her.

And honestly, he might even be looking forward to it, a small part of him at least. It might be the tie he'd told Ariadne he was so giddy about. C'mon, who wouldn't be over black, purple and green paisley? (Probably his brother, but that was besides the point!) Beyond praising his tie find, however, he might not admit to anyone but Juno a small part of him was looking forward to this.

"Alright," Regulus said as they approached the door, "tell me what we do first. Ariadne said there were awkward pictures, maybe?"

"Right," Juno said, linking her arm in his and leading him over to the corner where the photographer was set up. "They're only awkward because some people spend all year trying to get up the nerve to ask their crush out to the big dance--" And half of them were just itching to get their date out of their clothes, but she didn't say that.

"A lot of people just hate posing for pictures, but it's not like I'm camera shy, or anything--and besides--I bet you look magnificent in photographs. Even if they don't move." Juno wasn't nervous at all. This was just the way she talked.

"Is this awkward? Or is this okay because you didn't bring your big crush?"

Regulus smiled while he gave the compliment a thought. Family portraits were difficult at best to achieve in the Black family when Regulus was younger, two unruly boys who would just as soon ruin the picture as sit through it for their mother. After they started Hogwarts the 'family portrait' idea was completely shelved. Individual pictures taken by housemates were a different matter, even if the one image of him in those films about his universe, that one photograph, wasn't in the least bit flattering.

"Are you shy about anything?" Regulus asking, half out of curiosity, half out of teasing.

She smiled, shaking her head. She'd been a little bit shy of having Sam in the delivery room, but she wasn't going to bring that up to her prom date. Especially not this prom date, who'd nearly passed out in said delivery room when Caden had come out all covered in viscera.

"It's okay because my crush doesn't make me nervous," she said, "He just makes me happy. And I promise not to say anything inappropriate as they're about to snap the picture."
