Stefan had been living in Mystic Falls his whole life so it was safe to say that he wasn't one who often experienced things that people would call strange...but waking up in a different bed was something he would definitely count as abnormal. He barely noticed at first, but the bed itself was more comfortable than the one he had at home, softer...warmer. He was still on the edge of sleep though, not wanting to get up, and just rolled over in bed onto his side, his arm flopping out and hitting another body. For a moment he was thinking that it was just Damon playing a sort of trick on him..but then he opened his green eyes and noticed the long auburn hair splayed out over the pillow next to him along with the sight of soft, olive skin peeking out from under the blankets.

Oh lord, there was a woman in his bed.

Immediately, his eyes widened and he jumped from the bed with a sound of surprise, grabbing the closest pieces of clothing he could find and attempting to put them on, but he was shaking and he was...afraid? He was in some strange place that looked nothing like his bedroom at Veritas with things he'd never seen before. With a woman! ...An obviously naked woman. Once he managed to get the pants on, he got out of the room as quickly and quietly as he could and found a bathroom, locking the door behind himself. He couldn't help collapsing to the floor, burying his face in his hands and taking deep breaths. He just needed to stay calm because everything was going to be alright. At least he hoped so.

Stefan jumped at the sound of the woman's confused voice--she didn't sound at all familiar to him and the longer he tried to think of what had happened, how it had happened, the more his head hurt. He lifted his head from his hands and took a shaky breath, head hitting the back of the door. He collected himself as best as he could manage before he spoke up, trembling with uncertainty. "Miss...now this may come as a surprise to you, but I do not know you...nor do I know how you've come to learn my name. There must be some kind of mistake. I do apologize." He went over to the sink and played with it until he was able to get some cool water which he used to splash himself in the face, hoping he could wake himself up from what seemed to be a dream.

What? He didn't....remember her? Damnit! She had just moved in with him. They were supposed to be happy together and now he had forgotten her? Her eyes filled with tears, and a straggled sob escaped her mouth as she covered her mouth to stop the sound from coming out. She didn't want to upset him. If he had memory loss, she didn't want to make him feel guilty for not remembering her. That wouldn't be right.

"I...my name is Elena. My puppy here is our--I mean...my dog, Mr. Snuffles, but I call him Snuff for short." She placed her hand on the door, wishing she could go in and be with him right now.

He heard a bit of her cry and he was no longer able to hide away from her. She was clearly upset by him and he needed to fix it. Stefan opened up the door, curls of auburn falling into his face as he closed his green eyes tightly. "I did not mean to upset you, miss Elena. But...I...are you perhaps wearing clothing now? It would not be proper for me to see you in this state." The teen stood there looking awkward, his heart feeling like it was ready to burst out of his chest.

Elena quickly put on a robe, tying it around her tightly. "It's...not your fault." Damnit! Her voice was still cracked from the pain of waking up to realize her boyfriend didn't recognize her. Why was this place always toying with her emotions? She hated it here! She just wanted to live happily with Stefan. This place was making that quite impossible.

"Yes...I'm decent now."

Stefan opened up his eyes and took in the sight of her from, her curves, particularly, shown off so well in her robe. He tried his hardest not to blush, but a bit of pink still tinged his lips. He felt embarrassed by this--by the fact he was taken by a complete stranger, as honest and as kind as she seemed. "Ah...thank you." He didn't really know how to handle the situation at all, so he walked past Elena and sat down on the edge of the bed with a soft sigh.

Elena quickly wiped the tears from her face and tried to stop Snuff from running over to jump on the bed and sit next to Stefan, kicking at his cheek and whimpering for attention. "That's....that's Snuff. He's our--my dog." What was the point in telling him who she was? He didn't remember her and he seemed much to frightened to listen to her anyway. "My name is Elena Gilbert. I'm um...a niece of Johnathan Gilbert. I can only imagine how frightened you are, Stefan. I was too when I was brought here. I'm working on contacting Damon. He's here too," she smiled weakly at him. "Until then, will you please allow me to make you something to eat?"

	He moved down to pick up the puppy, setting him down in his lap so he could scratch him under the chin and play with his little floppy ears. "Thank you, Miss Elena, I would appreciate that..." Stefan let his green eyes meet hers for a moment, then he looked back down at the puppy in his lap, his attention going to the small, lovable creature. (Reply to this) (Parent)
