Entry tags:ariadne, arthur, eames

Who: Ariadne, Arthur, Eames
Where: Ariadne and Arthur's apartment.
What: Eames is a girl, Ariadne's a boy and Arthur is adorable.
When: Just after this, April 15th

Eames couldn't help but stare. Arthur was tiny. Arthur was tiny, wearing a giant-on-him tee-shirt and looking at him... her as he kept talking into the phone. "You are very tall," tiny Arthur said, and Eames couldn't help but giggle.

"I'm not that tall, sweetie. You can put the phone down now, though. We can talk without it," she replied with a smile, and then crouched down to be at Arthur's level. "My name's Danny, by the way. It's lovely to meet you," she said before holding her hand out to shake his. She couldn't help but reach over with her other hand to brush Arthur's fringe back from his face for a moment.

She glanced round when she heard footsteps behind her, and smiled up at Ariadne, then looked at Arthur once more. "And this is Ari, who is very tall. Would you... would you like to stay with us, here, until things go back to normal?"

Oh god, this was too funny and they were never going to let the point man live this down. "Not everybody does. Usually I'm a girl, I just look like a boy right now. And some boys are named Ari, and some girls are named Danny." Ariadne ruffled Arthur's hair - an opportunity she was pretty sure she would never get again - and wrapped an arm around the little boy, standing up and hoisting the kid up into the air.

"Yes, really we can have pancakes. But I don't know if we have any blueberries. What about chocolate chips?" She put Arthur down to sit on the countertop and pulled out a big bowl. "Or maybe something else. Dried apricots?"

Eames stood up as Ariadne did, following after the other two and trying her best not to laugh. "Exactly that. Besides, you're a boy, aren't you? And you have a boy's name. I don't know any girls called Arthur, do you?"

She went to start making drinks for everyone, then paused as Ariadne asked about pancake fillings. "I know I want chocolate, but then, I always do. Now, I'm having tea. Ari, do you want tea or coffee? And you need to tell me what you like, young man," she said, reaching over to beep Arthur on the nose. And if she was not-so-subtly checking out Ariadne's new body, well, that was allowed, wasn't it? Ariadne's new arse was almost as good as Arthur's, she mused.

The fact that she had to walk behind Ariadne to get at the fridge for the milk was a complete coincidence, but the hand that reached out to rest against the small of Ariadne's back was not. And if the hand just happened to slip down a little bit, well. Who could blame her? These things needed to be investigated, after all.

Legs swinging, Arthur waited patiently as the adults moved around the room. For all he knew, they could be relatives. His parents wouldn't just leave him somewhere, right? Then Danny was asking him what he'd like to drink and Arthur went quiet for a brief moment.

When he spoke again, his voice was barely a whisper, "Could I please have some chocolate milk? Mom and dad don't let me have it cause they say there's too much sugar and cavalries in it." A set of large and hopeful eyes looked up at both parties, his little fingers crossed to boot.

Ariadne squirmed away from Eames' wandering hand. They could experiment later. When Arthur was with the Cobbs - oh god, Dom was going to piss himself laughing and Mal would just coo over him - or taking a nap or something. Not grope each other in the kitchen over pancakes. "I think I need all the coffee," she said, frowning a little as Arthur explained his parents' embargo on chocolate milk.

"And I'll tell you a secret, kid, I think your parents are pretty silly to say that. Chocolate milk is fine." She chucked him under the chin and started getting out the dry goods for the pancake batter. "Do you want to stay there and help or sit at the table with your chocolate milk?" And were they really going to give him chocolate milk and chocolate chip pancakes? Somehow she couldn't say no to Arthur, especially when he was four and couldn't pronounce his R's.

The laughter Eames had been keeping under control finally broke free when she saw just how quickly Ariadne caved under Arthur's surprisingly good puppy-dog eyes. Granted, he had the advantage of being four years old, but still. "So that's coffee, tea and chocolate milk," she said when she stopped laughing, and started gathering the rest of the things she needed together. She couldn't help but pause when she fished out the chocolate syrup, though, and glanced over at Ariadne with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.

"If you're sitting at the table, you can draw pictures with me. If you'd like," she offered to Arthur, and then busied herself with making all the drinks.

Well these people are all sorts of fun. He'd get to color on a dining room table and have a glass of chocolate milk all in one go! A little daring, Arthur slid down off of the counter and landed a bit off kilter, falling onto one of his knees. Instinctively, he rubbed his now slightly sore little knee and made a run for the dining room table. Occasionally tripping on the way there, Arthur looked back over at Danny, "Is this one of your dresses? I doesn't fit me at all."

There was a slight pout to Arthur's lips before he saw Ari making those pancakes, and it was gone in an instant, "Um..Ari? Do you know how to make Mickey Mouse pancakes?"

Ariadne snorted at the thought of Arthur in a dress. "No, that's just someone's tee shirt." Arthur's tee shirt, actually, but that didn't matter right now. "We'll get you some clothes that'll fit you better so you can do things like run around and play without tripping." She reached past Eames to get the salt and baking soda out; normally she would've made crepes but classic American pancakes would probably suit a four-year-old better.

"I can try, but they might come out looking a little Goofy." The silly grin she gave him was definitely the same no matter her face. Ariadne started making the batter, splashing batter around as she got used to handling the whisk with her suddenly larger hands.

"And by 'we', you mean me, since I'm the only one with clothes that fit, so I'm the one that's going shopping," Eames said quietly so that Ariadne could hear. She left her tea to brew, and passed over a mug of coffee for Ariadne, then got started on making the chocolate milk for Arthur. "I can definitely say that this is a first. I can't think why he never mentioned liking this stuff before," she continued, still talking softly, "but we'll have to make sure there's plenty of this stuff around. When things are back to normal, that is. Don't you think so?"

She couldn't help but smile at the sound of Arthur's giggles after Ariadne's joke, and then brought the glass of milk over to the table. "There you go, sweetheart. I'm just going to get some paper and colours for us both, and then I'll be right back, okay?" She was also going to get her phone from where it was finishing charging in Arthur's bedroom. Detouring back to where Ariadne was making a mess, she went up on tiptoes and gave her a quick kiss on a (scruffy! hah!) cheek before heading back into the bedroom.
