It was strange that coming back from it, gaining his vampire abilities back that the first thing he realized was that he was starving...and not for Chinese take-out or chocolate chip pancakes. But for blood. He supposed that it made a bit of sense in a way--but what was more important tan that was the fact he could finally be with Elena again. Sure, they had talked on the phone almost the entire time, but that just wasn't going to do for him right now. He craved her warm skin and her kisses, the way she always said "I love you". The man hunted quickly, taking a few rabbits before he was sated, and then he headed back to his apartment, knowing his lover would be sitting there, waiting eagerly for him. It reminded Stefan of the time after the fake marriages, how he had ran back to Elena like a man starved. But this time it would be different, because he had something very special for them to share and he couldn't wait to see the look on her face.

Lexi was working at the bar tonight he figured, or else she had just gone out because he didn't hear or sense her anywhere. It was probably for the best because to be completely honest...they might get loud and there was nothing more awkward than your best friend hearing you have sex. He smiled to himself about the thought, making his way through the apartment to his room; he slowly opened up the door and peeked inside. But when he saw Elena sitting on the edge of his bed, waiting patiently for him Stefan lost it. He surged forward with vampire speed and pulled her into a passionate, hungry kiss, drinking in the taste of her.

Elena relaxed in his arms and closed her eyes contently. She was so happy to be able to snuggle next to him and not think about how good it would be to rip into his flesh and drink his blood. He still smelt good to her now, but it was just a scent that was pure Stefan. A scent she wanted to continue to inhale and get lost in. "You smell so good..." she whimpered. "I love the way you smell. And for the first time in weeks I don't want to eat you."

She looked up at him curiously. "Oh? What have you been thinking about?"

Stefan laughed softly, his girlfriend was so loving and sweet, he just couldn't get enough of her. But instead of dwelling in the comfort in silcene, and went on with that he had been going over in his head for a few days. "Well, first off, Lexi said that she would be completely fine with you moving in...and second off..." The vampire pulled way from her, standing up and going over to the desk in his room where he had spent his time writing in his journal. But now he was opening one of the top drawers and pulling out two small boxes. Ring boxes. He headed back over to her, smiling as he sat back down.

"I've been thinking about how far we've come together as a couple and I know we've only been together a few short months, Elena...but I love you so much. I keep thinking about our future..." He opened one of the boxes and out he drew a silver ring with a few diamond accents, engraved with both of their names, one on each side of the small diamonds. "It's a promise ring." Stefan stared at her with wide green eyes, waiting for her reaction.

Elena's eyes filled with tears as she looked at the beautiful ring. Not only did he want her to move in with him, but he gave her a promise ring too. He wanted them to have a future together. A real future. "Stefan...." she breathed, "It's beautiful. I love it." She smiled and kissed him softly, pushing her tongue in his mouth eagerly.

She pulled away after a few minutes and stared at the ring with a smile on her face. "Do I have to put it on myself, or are you going to put the ring on for me?"

He smiled wide and warmly at her and slid the ring onto her finger--it fit perfectly, just as he knew it would. And it looked perfect on her, it was simple enough...it was Elena and Stefan couldn't have been happier with it. He lifted the other ring box and opened it, showing another silver ring, engraved the same as hers. It was his. "Does that mean you want to put my ring on me," Stefan asked with soft laughter.

Elena couldn't help the tiny squeal of delight that escaped her lips as Stefan slid the ring on her finger. She admired how it looked on her hand for a few minutes before she took the other ring box from him and slid it on his finger before leaning in to kiss him hungrily. "We belong together Stefan, forever. I love you. I don't care if Jenna or everyone else thinks is a bad idea. I want to live with you. If the offer is still on the table."

"It'll always be on the table, love." Stefan lifted his hand to brush back the straight strands of dark hair that hung around her face. He took her hand and entwined their fingers, pulling her into a kiss that was just as hungry as the one she had given him. They'd done this a million times before, kissed and pressed their bodies together in privacy...but it felt different this time, and not just because he was once again a vampire, she a human. The man pressed Elena down onto the bed and he hovered over her for a moment with a smile and then kissed her again. He brushed their lips against each other, his teeth teased at the soft flesh, his tongue pushed out for entrance, but he didn't give in again. Yet.
