WHO: Emily and Jeremy
WHAT: A walk. Maybe some photos
WHEN: Afternoon
WHERE: Colligo streets then who knows
RATING: PG
STATUS: In Progress

Emily grabbed her camera and slipped on a loose and light jacket before leaving. If she had to walk to the other building she had to walk quickly, mostly so Jeremy wasn't waiting for too long. She'd hate to make him wait, especially if he's new to Colligo and unsure of the place. She didn't mind meeting him and showing him around, it gave her the chance to really find good places for photographs. She was sure there were other things, not just the park.

It didn't take her long to reach the other building and when she saw a man waiting, she assumed straight away it was the person waiting on her. Smiling as she got closer, she held her hand out for him to shake. It was an automatic reaction from years of social events, and of course it was a good way to introduce yourself, even if the other person had already spoken to you.

"Jeremy, yes?"

"Oh anything I see of interest, really. I don't have anything specific to photograph, I usually don't."

She actually found that rather fun, not having a specific place in mind. If something caught her attention she would take a picture of it. If not, then she would walk past it. It was just the way she thought at the moment, given it being a fairly recent hobby. She was just glad that she had the freedom to go anywhere and everywhere here to take any pictures she wanted to.

"Do you have any hobbies to pursue?"

"I'm kinda like that with drawing," Jeremy told her. He usually just drew whatever was on his mind, from action heroes, to girls, to werewolves. He wasn't great at talking about his feelings or thoughts, never had been, but especially now after everything. When his parents had died, he'd completely withdrawn into himself. While Elena had had her diary, Jeremy had his drawings.

He shrugged. He didn't really have time for hobbies, especially not these days. He liked music, but that was more of a passive interest than something he was militantly passionate about. Then there was always the vampire hunting/collaborating thing, but he couldn't exactly talk to just anyone about that. People here seemed to know about vampires and freaky shit, but still, it wasn't a great ice breaker. "I guess I've just been pretty busy lately," he said. "You know, school, friends, that sort of thing."

Emily smiled when Jeremy mentioned drawing. It seemed like a similar interesting past time to have, after all it was just as easy to lose yourself in drawings as it was in photographs. Two things that were easy to just focus on and forget about anything wrong in the world. Anything that bothered you.

She smiled when he mentioned not having a lot of time to do much. She never really experienced that, normally she had to find a lot of things to occupy her time. From photographs, to reading, to walking and then just socialising. Life wasn't as busy back home as it was here.

"As long as you find it enjoyable."

Jeremy nodded, looking down at the ground as he walked.

"What's it like where you're from?" he asked, wondering if everyone here was from strange backgrounds. He'd spoken to a few people who seemed to come from places as weird as Mystic Falls, some even stranger than that, but there didn't seem to be much of a pattern as to who was brought here or when. It was all really confusing. Jeremy had a feeling, no matter how many questions he asked, he'd never get anywhere near to the bottom of it all.

"A little different, I suppose. Women weren’t as free as they are now, that’s the main thing I’ve noticed.”

Given her protesting for suffrage, it was obvious she would notice how easier women had life now. They were free to do what they want, work and vote and even freer with their love. She enjoyed aspects of it, not having to conform to society and being able to do what she wanted without permission.

Jeremy raised his eyebrows slightly. "You come from a different time?" he asked, because, as far as he had gathered from History class, things had been pretty much equal for women for a while. At least, a while in his terms. He knew that the vampires he hung around with had seen times change over the decades, and a while for him would have seemed like nothing to them. He guessed that was the curse (or blessing, depending how you wanted to look at it) of living for ever. Things never stayed the same. Even in his sixteen years, Jeremy had been painfully aware of that.

"Yes, I am not the only one from what I know."

It was true, she had heard that there were people from a time long before her. That was crazy enough, actually, that it was not as strange to have someone mention her time as different. She didn't mind all that much in all honesty, since she had come to terms a while ago that she wasn't as straight forward as she hoped she was.

"Nineteenth century."
