Who: Ariadne and Eames, open to Huck Finn
When: This morning
Where: Eames's bedroom
What: A rather different sort of morning-after talk.
Rating/Status: Probably PG-13 for language; incomplete

It wasn't that the couch was uncomfortable. Sure, it wasn't quite long enough for someone of Arthur's stature, but Ariadne didn't have that problem. Mostly she just needed a night out of the apartment. A few hours without Phil bursting into tears and Ariadne having no idea how to respond, without Arthur trying to be a parent when he clearly was still mostly lost himself. Maybe it was a little selfish to want to escape from that for a while; Ariadne kind of didn't care. If things had been different she might have crashed with Sirius, but that wasn't even close to an option. So instead she let herself into Eames's apartment and did, in fact, make herself at home, curling up in his bed and falling asleep.

She didn't wake up when Eames joined her. At some point during the night she drifted awake and realized that the pair of them were tangled up together, but she was warm and comfortable and going back to sleep was far easier than feeling embarassed about anything. It wasn't till that morning, when she felt something tickling and scratching lightly on her shoulder, that she woke up properly.

"Whdryadun?" she mumbled into the pillow, then raised her head slightly. "Eames?"

It was weird enough being around two Eameses, outside of a dream where projections might pop up, but having them both use the same accent was downright creepy. Ariadne covered her face and rubbed at her eyes.

"Okay, you need to stop that, I need caffeine before I can handle it." They didn't look completely identical, but she wasn't awake enough for this kind of foolery. "Morning, Huckleberry." Yes, she was going to use his full name if he was going to mess with her head before breakfast.

Laughing at Ariadne's expression, Eames leant in close and stage-whispered "I suppose I shouldn't make any comments about being hot and ready, then. Righ- OW!" The last bit was more a yelp than a word, since Ariadne's very pointy toes had made sudden, painful, contact with Eames' leg. "Bloody hell, small women are vicious!"

He turned back to make two coffees for Ariadne and Finn, and another mug of tea for himself, and all the while he muttered about being abused by his best friend and after he'd given her such a lovely tattoo and this is the thanks he gets for everything and and and... When he was done fake-bitching, he went to put on the first of many rounds of toast, and then finished making everyone's drinks to their satisfaction before passing them round.

"Good morning, Ariadne," Huck replied, refining his annunciation and tipping the brim an imaginary hat to her. Unlike Eames, his arms were bare of ink and tattoos, but it was a debate which one of them was more unkempt and unshaven that morning. He grimaced at his double, and refrained from making and comment on the viciousness of women, small or otherwise.

He took his coffee black, because it was what he was used to as the consummate bachelor and workaholic, leaning back in his chair and putting his feet up in a way that was probably just asking for a kick. "Look at you, all domesticated and blissful. Or is it blistered?"

"It's because everything gets compressed," she said cheerily, accepting the coffee and taking a long drink. If Huck hadn't been there she might have kissed Eames on the cheek. As it was she just gave her friend an appreciative smile.

"And that was a terrible pun. Not even appropriate. I give it a two."
