WHO: Morgause (and Mordred) and Open
WHEN: Early morning
WHERE: Near the lake
WHAT: Searching for herbs/plants
Ratings: TBD
STATUS: Open/Incomplete

Morgause had never felt more useless in her life than she had recently. Every spell she had tried so far had not helped Morgana at all. She was her elder sister and held magic much stronger than her, and yet not once had she found the correct incantation or potion to help her sight. But Morgause had never been a quitter. And she wouldn’t stop until she found a way to cure her little sister. Or at least make this easier on her, give her slightly more freedom. Which was why she left before Morgana woke up to look for plants that she could use for a potion she had not considered using for years. It should hopefully make her other senses even stronger that she wouldn’t need to worry so much if she wanted to move about. Maybe Morgause could even consider leaving her sister’s home so she was able to be near by without having Morgana feel trapped. And even then they could rely on their ability to speak through their minds.

Kneeling by the more soggy part of the water, she pulled out a slightly slimy plant and placed it in a bag. She didn’t mind getting dirty to get the plants. Anything for Morgana. She was probably one of two people she would do anything for; Morgana and Mordred. It was possibly a bad thing, given it wasn’t hidden and others would easily know that they were a way to get to her. But then again, if Morgana or Mordred were harmed, she wouldn’t hold back in her response. Shaking her head, she pushed some of her long blond hair back behind her back and continued pulling at the plants.

Mordred. Harry recognized the name, of course, and the legends it conjured up. He understood that the boy would be quite powerful one day. Probably already was. But watching him, here and now, that smile playing across his face as the dog licked his hand, he didn't see the warlock that most people would see. Harry just saw a boy. And in a way, he saw himself.

A boy with strong magic, yes, but still only a boy. Mordred still had a lifetime of potential ahead of him. Who knew what he could become, under a different set of circumstances. Harry certainly wasn't going to judge him. After all, Harry knew what it was like to have people cringe, and cry 'warlock' at the mention of his name. He knew how it felt to have them automatically assume the worst.

He blinked in surprise as he heard--or had he felt?--Mordred's words inside his head. It had been a while since anyone had spoken directly into his mind. It shouldn't have surprised him, though, considering the looks that had passed between the boy and his aunt. He nodded, extending his own magical senses, and reaching out and tentatively brushing up against that tendril of thought. *It runs in the family.*
